  1. I wasn't aware that a song being fast-paced meant it qualified as "punk," but again, the specific technical details are more important than the reviewer's opinion, and like the last one, it's all extremely promising. The fact that he openly called one song a filler track is at least proof that not all of these early reviewers are paid off by Roadrunner.
  2. Hyperbolic as hell, but the specific details he gives are incredibly promising.
  3. The vinyl will be a 2xLP given the length, and records these days are pressed on thicker vinyl. The price is about standard.
  4. I at least get most of the complaints about this song, but "Geddy's voice is shot" is a joke.
  5. That guy's description of it as "Caress of Steel meets Vapor Trails" is more or less accurate.
  6. Now I'm not listening until the 24th if the album-length version drops then. F**k a radio edit.
  7. This is the best speculative thread in the forum at the moment.
  8. The wording of the press release gives the impression that the whole record is a concept piece.
  9. I'm not going to make any pronouncements about the clip until I hear the full song, but I like it a lot.
  10. Don't buy the radio edit. It'll be on YouTube if you aren't comfortable downloading it for free.
  11. This is just another reminder of how antiquated the record industry's promotional techniques are. The minute it gets premiered on one radio station it'll be all over the internet and the "regular" radio release date will be meaningless.
  12. I wouldn't listen to a teaser clip. Full song or bust.
  13. Someone posts real information and gives actual perspective for the first time since the hype cycle for this album began and people complain.
  14. QUOTE (Presto-a RUSH fan! @ Mar 14 2012, 11:48 PM) QUOTE (thizzellewashington @ Mar 14 2012, 06:59 PM)Ugh. How about they release the entire album on March 30th. They at least owe us that. I agree 100% In fact at this point, RUSH owes us each a personal concert where they play the entire album at each of our houses. Then, since they made us wait SOOOO long they should actually pay us to have the album. Then when they go on tour, the same thing, whatever the ticket prices would normally be, they should deposit that amount into our bank accounts. Then, they should also provide each of us, not a group of us, but each person individually, a limo to the show and then to a nearby hotel where they pay for the most expensive suite available, one with a hot tub and fully stocked bar, again, each fan should get their own room. Then, they should fly us via private jet from show to show and follow the protocol I have outlined above. That is the least they can do....they owe us that! (For those of you who don't understand this post, this is "sarcasm") One person understands me at least.

  16. QUOTE (Presto-a RUSH fan! @ Mar 13 2012, 01:18 PM) QUOTE (Lost In Xanadu @ Mar 13 2012, 04:55 PM) QUOTE (danielmclark @ Mar 13 2012, 03:38 PM) QUOTE (HigherWater @ Mar 13 2012, 01:53 PM) We call them secretive out of one side of our mouths and acknowledge that they are a business out of the other. Rush are VERY media savvy. Neil is a post-a-holic on his site. Ged and Alex were mugging for every cable interview under the sun three months ago and as I look back, they have been very consistent about web updates. I don't think I'm reading too much into this at all. We have an album that is WAY overdue, release dates being pulled and a band unwilling to update its fanbase through any media source. I absolutely think that now is the time to panic. Mmm. Okay. What's the most valuable company around these days? The company that has billions in the bank, the one making massive profits quarter after quarter, year after year. Apple. What's the most secretive company in the history of everything ever? Damn right it's Apple Being in business and being secretive are not mutually exclusive. We've just been trained to think they are by companies so desperate for attention that they tried to make news for insignificant things over the years. Apple does a couple of events a year, not much in between, and look where they are now. Not that Rush is the Apple of the music business, but come on... panic? Really? That's the reaction to not having a post up at Rush.com in about a month? OMG the sky is falling, it's time to panic? Just a sign of the times. With today's instant gratification with iPhones, iTouch, iPad, smart phones, text messaging, etc.... people have instant access to anything or anyone. To be in "panic mode" sounds absolutely crazy to me. What ever happened to patience? Is this really the only thing going on in your life to focus on? People need to relax. As Mr. Incredible said... "We'll get there... when we get there!!!" I want CA to come out as much as anyone, but seriously, it will come out. So let's say it gets pushed back to July. Is it really that big of a deal? Again, I am tired of waiting and excited as all-get-out for CA, but we are on the cusp of this thing being released. What is the big deal of waiting a little longer. Let's say they release it in May and the mixing is bad like on VT. The amount of threads and posts ripping RUSH for "rushing" the album out without fixing the problems would overload TRF and probably crash the servers! So for the love of RUSH, just relax and have some patience. It's not like we don't have 19 studio albums, 2 songs of CA and numerous live albums and DVDs to tide us over. Again, I am as excited as anyone for CA to come out but it's time to "panic"? Really? Edited for bad grammar This man has the right idea. We're not exactly talking about SMiLE or Detox here.
  17. Besides, since when has Rush.com ever been up to date with news announcements? That's been a problem since the website was launched. Their PR people aren't exactly the most proactive.
