  1. I much prefer flying inflated condom balloons
  2. I don't see the reason for a PT hatethread. I stumbled across PT through these forums, and was very glad that I did. Ever since, Deadwing, In absentia and FOABP have been on high rotation in my earphones. I personally don't connect with the lyrics on a dark level like many of you mention, having never been there myself. The music however, is what I seem to connect with and I feel that the composition (not by just SW, but the WHOLE band) is excellent on Deadwing, In absentia and FOABP, and there is plenty of talent shared amongst the band.
  3. oh and I'd love to see another track from Vapor Trails played live to bring some credibility back to what is often labeled as a sublime album. Freeze or Nocturne should do it.
  4. I wouldn't mind seeing Countdown live (switched with another Signals track), I have taken a strange liking to this song over the past couple of weeks.
  5. I sure as hell hope I get them before I fly out to London on the 16th of May
  6. Got hold of the 'Arriving Somewhere' DVD yesterday. Look forward to giving it a spin as I have been getting into both Deadwing and In Absentia lately.
  7. QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Jan 7 2011, 10:12 AM) QUOTE (Ranger J @ Jan 6 2011, 08:01 PM) After picking up the DVD just before christmas, I have been listening to PT on a daily basis - I'm addicted. The lyrics, music composition, the riffs - just blow me away. FoaBP is my favourite, followed by In Absentia and Deadwing. Gavin Harrison - WOW! Do you have any of their other albums? If not, get Stupid Dream, Lightbulb Sun, and The Incident next. The Incident takes a few listens to fully appreciate it, but it is a great album. They are awesome! Porcupine Tree is probably my second favorite band, next to Rush. The thing that is great about them is that each album is different and have a different "sound". No two albums are the same. Yeah I've managed to get hold of all of them - though those three are the albums that clicked with me on first listen. I'm the same, Rush is still on the pedastal for me too, but PT is a close second.

  9. Finally see Rush. And make it to a Porupine Tree gig if they decide to tour.
  10. I picked up the Anesthetize DVD on the weekend. Wow, what an awesome show. I haven't watched it right through, but the first 4 songs blew me away. I'm spewing I didn't pay the extra $10 for bluray
  11. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Dec 17 2010, 11:24 PM) Who knows, maybe he'll become his generation's John Lennon or Paul McCartney. Girls chased them too! If not, he's just another in a long line of teen idols. I have no idea why people are overly concerned about him. I feel sorry for the poor kid in a way, or any kids for that matter that get such a sudden surge of popularity whilst not old enough to understand and deal with it appropriately. Unfortunately they are usually used as pawns and taken advantage of by the record labels. After his short career the next time we will hear of Justin Beiber in the news in a decades time, either being arrested for drug charges or being admitted to rehab.
  12. Was doing some data entry for work and came across photo number '2112' - unfortunately I was listening to 'Afterimage' at the time.
  13. Anyone else get the impression that the boys are starting to wrap things up? The conveniently named Time Machine Tour, and now filming in Cleveland...nostalgia much? Add to the fact that they seem to be taking their time with CA to get it right.... I can't help but feel, given the quality of what has been released thus far, that CA will be their rain song to Rush fans and rest of the music world.
  14. QUOTE (fonzbear2000 @ Dec 3 2010, 08:27 AM) How many damn threads do we need complaining about ticket prices? x2 Using the forum to vent their frustrations over a dozen threads. If you can't afford it - tough titties. Well here's my vent: Unlike many of you complaining, I've never had the opportunity to go to a Rush gig before let alone 5, 10 or 20 Rush gigs, and thankfully the higher prices have enabled me to get some half decent seats.

  16. Hi All, Just seeing what other overseas members past experiences are with having ticketmaster deliver their tickets on time. I'm now quietly pooing my pants in the event that my tickets are delivered less than 7 days before the event, as I've booked flight over departing the week before the gig. I'm hoping worst case scenario, the tickets arrive after I've left, then the folks have to express post the tickets to a post office in London somewhere. My experience with the local ticketmaster have had the tickets arrive several weeks in advance of the chosen gig. Am I just being a worry-wort?
  17. QUOTE (Angua @ Dec 1 2010, 02:37 AM) I'd rather see a live show than listen to recorded material. x2 Never underestimate the power of live music. I have faith in any decisions the band make - they have had a pretty good run thus far - and you will struggle to find another band (or if you do know one, please share), with the same size fan base, 'giving' as much as they do.
  18. QUOTE (Jean Simmons @ Nov 26 2010, 12:13 AM) Right I'm off to smoke one of significant others gays, even though I gave up smoking gays years ago, because these ticket prices are upsetting me so much. Then I've got to put the gays on for tea, because junior is coming home from school soon. I had to read that twice. For a second there I thought you were reverting 'back to homosexual tendencies' so that you could afford a ticket. Cross-continental context barrier
  19. Special appearance by Nelly Furtado with a $25 Casio Keyboard and Mac Garageband doing a rendition of Time Stand Still.

  22. QUOTE (StarmanUK @ Nov 24 2010, 02:29 AM) QUOTE (Ranger J @ Nov 23 2010, 05:25 AM) a quick question for the UK members. As per my post above, I'm planning to make the long haul to the UK for the TM tour, from Perth, Western Australia. As this will be my first time to the UK, Are there any major pro's and con's against attending either the Birmingham or London show? I.e. is one venue better than the other? I'm thinking Birmingham at this stage, as I plan to meet up with a friend of mine in Cardiff for a week or so after the gig. Any help is appreciated. Cheers! I live near Cardiff and always go to Birmingham LG Arena. I today secured tickets in Block 2, good seats on the side Geddy also said recently that he thinks Birmingham has the best sound of all the UK arenas. Ended up with London tickets. Anything has got to be better than the shit venues we have here in West Aus.
  23. People will always miss out on gigs, frankly they can't play to everybody. Unfortunately its those that are a little financially strapped this time round. Its simple, bands make there money via touring these days, and thus prices go up. The same people complaining are probably those that probably torrent albums on a regular basis (I apologise if you are not one of these people). Consider it one of the consequences of living in the digital age. I can't justify tickets being too expensive when there is likely to be a complete sellout tour of Europe?
  24. I'm stoked - first RUSH concert and holiday in UK! I've got B1, Row L - 18 and Row N - 12 (mate) at the London 02 gig. 6 Months and counting!
