  1. Was hoping for a Washington DC date (I know I wouldn't get one in Richmond where I live). But I have to be in Nashville next week for work. So, I got a ticket for Sunday in Nashville. Flight lands two hours before 'gates'. Will have my fingers crossed for no flight delays.
  2. I wasn't aware that Hawkins also drummed for Alanis Morrisette. To the non-Canadians, you should check out Morrisette as a pop-dance act, simply known as 'Alanis' before the Jagged Little Pill era and beyond. I don't remember the pop-dance act, but certainly remember her on You Can't Do That On Television
  3. Concur 100%. Very underrated imo. Jimi changed bass players, but he never changed drummers and that speaks volumes Buddy Miles might disagree with you. Aw shit I forgot about that. Maybe I blacked it out................ But it was never 'The Experience' with Buddy.

  5. My first thought was "Anything by the Allman Brothers or Grateful Dead". Pretty much only listen to their live stuff. Can't recall last time putting on a studio album. The two Allman tunes you listed are probably the two that would come to my mind first. I'll add Dreams. I usually change my personalized license plate every couple years. After three consecutive Rush themes (LAMNETH, 21I2, HMSPHRS), I now have L1Z REED. As far as the Dead go, Dark Star and The Other One would probably be the two that distance themselves the most from studio. I love your suggestion of One From The Vault. Haven't listened to that in ages. What a great sounding album. Shame their isn't more stuff from 75. Love that Help>Slip>Tower. Think I'll play that now
  6. Are you experienced for me. EL close behind. They are all so wonderful. Might have voted for Band Of Gypsys had it been included
  7. Tap is the exact opposite - absolute genius. “The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin’ “ :P My garage band plays Big Bottom as well as Cups and Cakes.
  8. Spinal Tap. It's almost like they were a fake made up band.
  9. Rockfield Studios for me 1. A Farewell To Kings 2. Hemispheres
  10. I could see Geddy and Dave jamming together. When many of my friends come over, we often end up jamming (I have a house full of instruments so nobody needs to bring anything. Just pick something up and play it). It's just for fun. If this happens to be the case, it could have been just for the evening to have fun with 0 plans to do anything in the future.
  11. It would be boring if you had predictable lists. Always great to see fresh opinions.
  12. Probably a Crowes coin toss for me on Amorica vs Warpaint. Ballad In Urgency > Wiser Time has a feel that it was written by someone/something from a higher plain. But I listen to Warpaint so much now. Didn't really become a Crowes fan until 96. So Amorica has 23 years of history vs the 10 years of Warpaints life. Difference might be that I usually listen to the entire Warpaint album, but pick and chose off of Amorica.
  13. Caress Of Steel 2112 Farewell to Kings Hemispheres Those 4 are a good bet. Number 5 would probably be Moving Pictures Non-Rush would probably be something like: Zep 1 Zep 3 Yes - Relayer (but maybe CttE instead) Allmans - Fillmore East (this could possibly beat out one of the Rush albums) Hendrix - Are You Experienced The band Ive probably listened to most is the Grateful Dead, but it's all live shows and one certain show couldn't make the charts.
  14. Of the two choices, I would go with Boston. But my favorite recording would be the Grateful Dead at the Boston Music Hall (June 9, 1976) released as Road Trips Volume 4 Number 5.
  15. Back in the day, rush.com had a message board forum. Apparently my account got banned as I discussed bootlegs (giving advice to another poster on where to find them). That's how I found this place (searching for other Rush message boards). So, getting kicked out led to me hanging out with you folks.
  16. Got excited by song number 60. Was hoping it was some sort of cover or something new that I'd never heard before. Oh well.
  17. I saw a young Derek Trucks (13) at Walnut Creek in Raleigh play the Layla outro:

  19. Have been holding off buying the book hoping for a book-signing event in the Washington DC area as was rumored. It's been fairly quiet recently on news of any book signings. Has anyone heard of any rumors about more signings or if he's done with them??
  20. There are plans in the works for a new film focusing on Baroque composers and will be produced/portrayed by 'action heroes' of film. When they sat down to decide on roles..... Chuck Norris spoke up first, "I think I would like to be Vivaldi" Sylvester Stallone chimed in next, "I'll portray Handel" Arnold Schwarzenegger added, "I'll be Bach"
  21. I think 3 is rated too high. Number 7 is rated way too low. I would have put that at number 2.
  22. Alex Lifeson (who I am sure is a member on here hiding in obscurity) got me into Rush.
