  1. I searched high and low for a SCTV thread and did not find one, so if there is one, I apologize (and if there is one, could you link it?). If not, here you go! I figured we need one, because who is better than Bob and Doug or Pirini Scleroso and her inability to learn the English language or Sid Dithers' desire for a son to be a jazz singer or Dusty Towne's sexy holiday special? I mean, come on! Nothing is better than quality Canadian television and no one gives it better than the likes of Catherine O'Hara, Eugene Levy, Dave Thomas, Rick Moranis, Andrea Martin, Joe Flaherty, John Candy, etc. So, take off, eh, and get this topic started, so... go!
  2. QUOTE (CMWriter @ Nov 8 2010, 11:24 PM) I pity the people who think Green Day is talented. Wiser words have not been spoken.
  3. QUOTE (CMWriter @ Nov 9 2010, 12:02 AM) Kudos to anyone who can site the reference in my signature that has nothing to do with Rush and everything to do with a certain game series I'm strangely addicted to. Anyways, hello, hello, TRF, I'm Christine, insane writer and lover of all things musical, specifically Rush. Don't ask me what my favourite song or album is, because you may cause my young brain to implode like Cygnus X-1. Which would be bad, considering I just got accepted into my dream college. Not much to know about me, except that I'm a senior in high school and that my dad got me into Rush... But I'd like to think I've been a Rushian since before I was born.. And besides, I was born in 1993, the year Counterparts was released, which is awesome. Then again, I think all their albums are awesome, so that's not really relevant. If anyone wants to chat or whatnot, just shoot me a PM. Glad to be here, and can't wait to meet all you awesome people! Sweet signature!

  5. I want to make a Muse thread, but I'm worried the fangirling will overtake me and I'll make a buffoon of myself. You guys don't know what that band and their music does to me. If there was a deadly sin for a person, that would be mine...
  6. You lucky ladies!!!! Thanks for the photos!!
  7. As what some have said above, I'm not comfortable discussing "lady issues" on public venues. Hell, I don't even like discussing some personal issues on public forums (it depends). However, if you feel like you're being attacked, I do offer hugs and PMs, which I think most of the ladies here can offer. It is rough being new. I've felt that way here (the odd "how do I fit in" bit), but you know, you work it out and what not. And some people won't agree with you, some will. And if you need a hug, there are always plenty of people willing to offer you a Rushian forum one.
  8. I luuuurrrrvvvvveeeeee milk and I mean I it. There are no words. And I found out I am extremely lactose intolerant. *sobs* EEG still showing lots of seizure activity too.
  9. QUOTE (1 of the 7 @ Nov 8 2010, 01:00 AM) Yeah, I wasn't going to say anything last night, but I've decided to. Ugh, here I go - I know I'm going to be unpopular and hated once again in life, but 1) I'm used to it and 2) I am who I am - someone who can't keep her mouth shut. I think it's a little hypocritical how we all (myself included) can be so extreme, competitive, and even embarrassingly kinky in our lust for the guys, which I'm afraid the guys would be turned off or even offended by as married men, but when someone brings up that their music is genuinely helpful in a part of life that's challenging, they get attacked for it. This makes sense? Um, aren't we supposed to be in this fandom TOGETHER? I'm also going by some of the stuff that's happening on Facebook right now, FYI, but I've only been a fan for two months and I'm already getting turned off. Not to Rush; I'm well prepared to listen to them all by myself, if I have to, but I would have liked to have felt welcome to do so with others. I don't, especially as that awkward New Fan in the room.
  10. I would be the ill-fated person in the front. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v450/Garbo/The%20egotistical%20sub%20album/232323232fp5ot2329637864XROQDF23242.jpg And this constitutes as animal abuse, taking cute photos of fat mare and lil pony eating their breakfast. I do have photos of the pony and myself but most of them are worthy of America's Funniest Home Photogs. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v450/Garbo/Horses/104_1462.jpg

Really??? My thoughts exactly... Same here. It wasn't me who started this thread about Rush & the "gift"(!) *hugs* It's okay, dear. I'm a little smug about another thread, but I'm not going to say anything. *hugs again*

QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Nov 6 2010, 12:49 AM) QUOTE (garbo @ Nov 5 2010, 12:19 PM) QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Sep 8 2010, 10:07 AM) Here is an article from my local paper (online) that tells about a guide dog who helps an 8 year old boy with autism (along the lines of a seeing eye dog): http://auburnpub.com/news/local/article_2d...1cc4c03286.html I've never heard of this before but it's a great idea if it works for sure. I have several children with Autism Spectrum Disorder that have benefited beautifully from working with horses, especially because it works to create an emotional bond. We have one child who is relatively severe on the spectrum (no language, no emotional connection, very aggressive [he hits so, because I have epilepsy, I cannot side walk with him anymore], cannot recognize his parents- very, very sad), however, we're really hoping that therapeutic riding will benefit him. Generally most of our kids are mild (i.e. what was once known as Aspergers) and are a lot of fun. They get a real kick out of the ponies. I am all for Hippotherapy. Easter Seals is looking into whether or not it can be covered by his care costs and incorporated into his treatment plan come spring time when it's more hospitable riding weather here in New England. Riding helps work the core muscle system, which will help all the muscles in the body work in concert with each other It's really quite amazing. I generally work with kids with CP and to see what it does for them emotionally and physically is just astounding. I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed for you!

I only read a few lines there, but......ok Nice weather we're having, ain't it??? The shooting range is open Yeah, if you don't get sarcasm and/or proverbial wit, I wouldn't read it.
  17. Years ago when I first heard "Limelight," during "with insufficient tact" I heard "with some fishing tack." Despite the fact that I now know the real lyrics, I still sing "with some fishing tack" really loud because I like those lyrics. Now I've just learned to go memorize the lyrics before I decide to belt them out.
  18. In no particular order: SCTV Family Guy The Simpsons Battlestar Galactica Laverne and Shirley (old) SNL That 70's Show Malcolm in the Middle The West Wing Mythbusters (I actually got to see a panel with Adam. 19. Amidst the multiple Darth Vader photos I looked up to make my roommate laugh (while she was on the phone), I found this brilliance... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v450/Garbo/darth-vader-harry-potter.jpg

  21. Dear Youngish Boy Roommate, I know you don't have to have a job and it's awesome that your parents pay for everything so you haven't had to do anything but sleep and be merry. But you can do your dishes. It's not that hard. See? Take dish towel, put under water, add dish soap, scrub, rinse. Not hard. Sincerely, Your older cranky female roommate
