  1. When you do not disagree with practically any of their lyrics...even though you are NOT an atheist by any stretch of the imagination.
  2. Flamenco. Unless you count the fact that Alex does use acoustic guitars at times. Classical music. Though there are classical tributes to Rush, so maybe it is not all that different. Country music. I mean, it is all very predictable 4/4 and 1-4-5-dim7. And I like religious Christmas songs MUCH better than secular ones. I love "O come all ye faithful" and despise "Sleigh ride".
  3. Not a big enough Beatles fan to have 10 top songs of theirs. But my favorite Beatles song is Money. Second favorite is Come Together. I know that Money is a cover. But it is still my favorite.
  4. You see the U-Haul van with the Inuktituk from Nunavut and you point and squeal "Test for Echo!" in delight. You read something about electromagnetic waves, and when you get to radio waves, you start singing "Invisible airwaves crackle with life".
  5. The Pass needs to be played for sure. But not in lieu of Presto. In the concert, the one song I had not heard before that I liked the most was Presto.
  6. "They say the heart of rock and roll is in Cleveland" Which is a very credible mondegreen, given the fact that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame IS in Cleveland indeed.
  7. Went to a holiday party with a gift exchange...and the person who got my gift absolutely adored it!!!
  8. I want them to play Xanadu!!! And The Pass. And Red Sector A. They can switch The Pass for Stick it Out. And Red Sector A for Time Stand Still. And Xanadu for Marathon and Time Stand Still.
  9. QUOTE (CMWriter @ Nov 30 2010, 06:45 PM) They're a touring band, as we all know.. That's how they got popular in the first place (well.. at least, that's how they got their first fans) and that's how they're continuing to get new fans from newer generations! Think how many people have said that going to a Rush concert pretty much MADE them a fan. That means those same fans will go out and buy songs (really, it's so much easier than trying to find free versions online).. So in the end I think it's all good. Like I've said on other threads, I can wait. I can be patient. Maybe touring really IS the best thing for them. They obviously still immensely enjoy performing live -- why deny them? I will have to completely agree with this. Before seeing the Time Machine concert this past October, Rush was just another band I liked that simply happened to have several songs I liked. OK, so I liked pretty much every song of theirs I heard on the radio. And I was aware they were an iNtuitive Thinker band. But it was their concert that made me like them enough to join this forum and get me nearly obsessed with them. I had never had so much fun at a concert before. If CA is their last album and after that they will simply keep touring, I will be content. I would like for CA to be finished- but I want to see Rush again live for sure.
  10. Awesome wallpaper. You did a great job of capturing them through the ages.
  11. I had dreamt of all 3 as individuals- Neil probably had shown up the most. All they did was appear previously. Until last night, where they were actually playing as Rush!
  12. I started a thread about the dream I had last night, since I was not able to find this one on time. It is on the main Rush section. Mods, if you want to move it to this thread, feel free to do so.
  13. This is absolutely nothing compared to what most of the answers on this thread are. But: - Amazing Workout at the gym was mainly Body Step (which I dislike) - I was only able to do half hour of it and very modified, because the cold I am recovering from left A LOT of fluid in my ears that has affected my balance. - I truly was hoping it would have Body Combat in it. The Body Attack part (which I like, though not as much) was canceled. - Rib still hurts, so I was not able to do the Pump part. I know, I know, this is trivial compared to a lot of other things. At least I was able to exercise for a bit.
  14. I saw it on Tuesday. It had a good breaking point. They could have cut out at least 10 minutes and it would still have made perfect sense. It was way too long- but I do not have the longest of attention spans.
  15. I have an injured rib cartilage. I am recovering from a cold and coughing a lot. You do the math- OUCH!
  16. I'll have to go with La Villa Strangiato. It is fun to listen to.
  17. I actually went to the Symphony this past Friday night. Which is not the norm. Here are some excuses: - I had to work (and I would not be getting home till at least 6:30) - I have to work on Saturday - I am ill - I do not want to eat more - I have to go somewhere on Saturday But most of all: - I am NOT a night person!!! And this is the main reason why I hardly go out at night. And yes, I did go to the Rush concert on a Friday night. I took a nap earlier that day. Had to work the next day and wasn't going to miss the early class at the gym that day either.
  18. Customer hugging me at work. And that hilarious "Still no guitar" clip someone posted on another topic!
  19. When you misread Lexx as Lerxst! When you see a book titled "How to read literature like a professor" and wonder how Neil reads literature...
  20. Before being diagnosed, my anovulatory bleeding was very irregular and unpredictable. Which made it very annoying- especially since I was not wearing tampons back then (old-fashioned family). Cramps were easily manageable with exercise- I did not even need an analgesic. Other mainly annoying part was the acne on my back- didn't get it on my face. Hirsutism I shaved/bleached/depilated/waxed off. Mother made a big fuss about my extra weight (she has anorexia nervosa and orthorexia nervosa), but I was not a plus size (just on the larger side of average and not even the heaviest girl in class), so it was not the biggest annoyance to me- yet it was the main reason why I was taken to an endocrinologist. I have been slender since my diagnosis, have no acne, no hirsutism, and a very regular and predictable and pain-free drip. Blood sugar is still very low. Cholesterol has gone down since I became a vegetarian. I do know a lesbian couple who had a baby recently. One partner had two children from her first marriage. But the other one had the baby this time. I know another lesbian couple who will TTC starting next year. I know several women (mostly straight) who were devastated upon finding out they had PCOS and their likelyhood of having kids was lowered. But if anyone can handle that side effect, it is me. I just don't want to risk diabetes. Or to bring another person to this already overpopulated world. Biological parenthood is just not.for.me.

  22. Various people telling me I looked great- even with my cold. I dressed up nicely, wore my hair down, and wore full make-up. But it still shows that I have a cold. This means a lot because my last crush saw me today. The only clue I had that he did not feel the same way for me was that he never complimented my appearance
  23. This is one gift Mother Nature did not give me. I do not PMS because I do not menstruate. I do not menstruate because I do not ovulate. I do not ovulate because I have PCOS. I have zero interest in having biological children, so this may be moot. I have been successfully diagnosed and treated. I am more concerned with preventing diabetes than with the infertility part. I am in a good mood every day of the month...as long as it is before 11PM or so. After that, I am just plain incoherent. My solar cycle works well- it's the lunar one that does not work at all. I still like being female.
