  1. Tooth and Nail is a great album. Beyond that, a little Dokken goes a very long way. George Lynch, however, is underappreciated.
  2. Hardly a unique tendency. How many posts have been made on this board to the effect of, "Gawrsh, I couldn't POSSIBLY pick between Test for Echo and Moving Pictures," or "Geddy sounded better on the R40 tour than he did on the Moving Pictures tour"?
  3. I think all 3 "new" songs sound more like John Lennon solo songs than Beatles songs, tbh. Obviously. He didn't know Paul would ever hear them, and I think he and Paul were better songwriters when the other was looking over their shoulder.
  4. Giving the people what they want, Jackie. Love ya, brother.
  5. I think it's less about the arrangement, at least in my eyes, and more about the apparent quality of the audio. When they worked on the song for Anthology, the technology wasn't there to salvage Lennon's vocals. People savaging the song have kinda lost the thread. Lennon's been dead for over 40 years, Harrison for over 20. So they can't go back and completely retool their parts if they think they need it. Lennon had this song available to him when Double Fantasy came out and he took a pass on it. Free As A Bird, Real Love and Now and Then aren't meant to compete with Abbey Road. If you are a fan of the band (I am) it's nice to have some material they collaborated on for the first time since I Me Mine and Let It Be.
  6. Love you goose. Always have. But man does Ghost suck.
  7. And yet you've been able to listen to ANY music by Ghost? WITHOUT wanting to break your audio equipment for failing to act like your digestive system would act if you drank sour milk?
  8. In excess of 12 million views. 599,000 "thumbs up," no "thumbs down." But sure, they just happened to come along at the right time. Nothing to do with their individual and collective talents. They not only all existed at the same time, but they lived in close proximity to one another, met and formed a band. Let the odds of that sink in.
  9. Jackie, I'm going to give you what is the high praise I give to a very long time friend of mine who says stuff like this: Giving the people what they want.
  10. If you think you hate him, I recommend you read A Season on the Brink. There's a reason why so many people who played for him loved him. He tried to make sure the kid who only got into Indiana because of his basketball skills understood he needed to graduate. If you made it through his program and weren't good enough for the NBA (and there were A LOT of such kids, which tells you something about his ability to coach them up), he tried to help you get a job. And the anecdote of him calling his son Pat from the road about Pat's high school basketball game is one of my favorite stories about a public figure I've ever read. In short, Pat told Bobby that he played well in every aspect of his game, and Bobby told him no one does that.
  11. It will be the most streamed song of the year. And then 2 greatest hits packages that are 50 years old that feature songs that are between 60 and 53 years old will be the most streamed/downloaded albums of the year. But sure, tell me how there are more influential bands in history.
  12. Perhaps the quintessential example of an album whose greatness is due to the whole thing, not the individual tracks, IMO.
  13. From the mid 80s to CA there are, literally, dozens of solid candidates for "the worst Rush song evah." You could fill several CDs with songs that did not need to be released. If we want to light the board up, let's go in the opposite direction and list their top 20 songs or top 4 albums. That's where the battle is.
  14. I thought Jimi said that Billy Gibbons was his favorite guitarist?
  15. Stop saying, "deep throated," Jackie. It's creepy.
  16. How do you feel about your post now Jackie?
  17. The guy who played QB for the Patriots before Cam Newton. “McCorkle,” just led the Patriots down the field for a game winning TD against the Bills.
  18. The Rolling Stones - Hackney Diamonds. I like it, but I like every Stones album when I'm listening to it. Nice to have some new Stones music. The Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street. The 10 bonus tracks are better than anything on Hackney Diamonds.
