  1. Settle down folks, they arent going to put an R40 tour together and only play 34 shows, they will have second leg. Tampa on Memorial Day weekend!! fooookin awesome!!!
  2. Absofreekinlutey Geddy could belt out a credible Anthem vocal! So many of such little faith
  3. Went to Tampa show not going 2nd time because of the setlist, not worth the dough, and the drive to Orlando unless they make some changes.
  4. First Rush show was Signals tour, GUP, PW are by far my least fav albums so the first set of the CA tour was pretty lame for me with the exception of Analog Kid which rocked, guy sitting next to me about the same age was the exact opposite, loved the synth era, and i was happy for him, so there ya have it we all like different flavors. The CA matierial was really incredible live, luckily i got to see the show that included SCOG best song of the night! The non synth lovers like me should still go the second set alone is worth the dough imho!

    Lakeside Park

Love the song, would definately be on my all time fantasy set list! cool pics as well!
  6. i believe Geddy was on record as saying the were not going to change the set much just a few "tweeks"
  7. I would love to hear those songs, and throw in "what your doing" for good measure! Geddy could sing them just fine, he wouldnt have to even attempt to hit the high notes, Geds vocals are far down on the list when rating a RUSH show imo, although he did sound noticeably better on the CA tour, i guess since they didnt have any back to back nights.
  8. The Manta at Sea World is the best coaster ive EVER riden!! Although the new Cheetah Hunt here in Tampa at Busch Gardens is pretty bad arse as well!! RUSH, Florida, and New Years eve?? I recall a bad incident in Naples a few years back :)

    Rush and 1D

Taylor is like "who the hell is Rush"?
  10. Can't say I agree, at all! Clockwork Angels is awesome because of its vocal melodies and because IT ROCKS, in an old-school Power Trio way. Keyboard-heavy music doesn't really "rock," in my opinion. To rock, the melody should be played on guitar(s), not keys. Edited to add: the melodic part of the band is Geddy's influence; the "rockingness" part is Alex. The problem with the Keyboard Era (and also if they returned to the Keyboard Era sound) is that it throws the balance of power away from Alex and almost entirely to Geddy. And as a result, we get only melody, and much less ROCKINGNESS. Besdes that who in the hell wants to air keyboard?
  11. To each his/her own but why anyone would want to hear Geddy play a synthesizer instead of his bass boggles the mind!
  12. Not too stoked about the hall nod at all, part of me wishes that Janny and the rest of the self appointed dopes on the nomination comittee contimued to snub our heros from the North because now we have to deal with the fact that we have warped into the "mainstream", not sure which is worse!
  13. The comittee didnt wake up one morning throw on Hemispheres and proclaim "i finally get it"! Who knows what sparked the nomination, my uneducated guess is they just finally said f it! even though we still hate thier weird ass music, and as much as we hate to admit it we cant continue to look like complete idiots year after year, and we are sick of answering the questions about RUSH sooooo.
  14. Ill take the liberty of authoring the decline letter to the hos should the boys be asked to join Dear Jann Wenner On behalf of the band, and millions of RUSH fans around the world we are thankful that you fine folks have finally removed your heads from your asses, and have chosen to recognize the accomplishments of one of the great rock bands in history. Upon the news of the invitation, Geddy, Alex, and Neil took quite a while to stop laughing long enough to enlist me to notify you that they will not be attending the induction ceremony in 2013 as they will be busy filling the hallowed concert halls on the second leg of thier Cockwork Angels tour, the band has promised to let me know when they will be available, in the mean time the hall will simply have to wait its turn! Sincerely, Ray Daniels
  15. The only thing cool about Rush getting invited to join the hall of shame is if the boys politely tell them to go fluk themselves! It would be demeaning to the band, and legions of fans to even step foot in that Cleveland rathole.
  16. never happen but ill play Tom Sawyer Fly By Night SOR Limelight And if the hall of shame does come calling some day, i hope the boys give them a polite go fluk yourselves!
  17. The whole first set did not contain a lot of preferred songs for me other than Analog kid, my fearless fantasy tweaks to the first set for leg 2 next summer Sudivisions out- What your doing in Big Money out- New World Man in Force Ten out- A passage to Bankok in Grand Designs out- Red Barachetta in Body Electric out- Vapor Trails in Territorries out- Roll the Bones in Analog Kid Bravado out- Lakeside Park in Wheres My Thing out- Jacobs Ladder in Far Cry out- The Trees in Anybody else want to take a stab for fun if you could pick the first set?
  18. SCOG all the way! was amazing live, felt like it was something that could have been on permanant waves, sooo glad the Tampa show had it instead of wish them well.
  19. I thought it was a thoughtful, honest review of a band he doesnt particulary like which is fine by me, even though he clearly didnt budge much from his pre conceived opinions, at the end of the day everyone likes thier own brand of vodka, this so called "critic" gets to write an opinion in a newspaper that means nothing more or less than mine or any other fan of music other than some dopey editor pays the guy to do it. Where this Randall dude falls of the cliff is his supporting opinions on why the boys arent hall worthy, his reasons are utter idiocy, the case has been made too many times to even go there! Nothing would be cooler if upon an invitation to join the hall the boys gave them a polite "no thanks," it would be EPIC!
  20. Thanks for the vid losingit! Im glad your son digs the boys, mine had to miss this one, duty calls in Afghanistan, however did get some props from fans sitting near us for my wifes air drumming skills!
  21. I cant figure out why the rotate SCOG off CA, it was the best song of the whole show imo, it ROCKED live. The Body Electric however, meh. And so it goes for a band with such a huge category, the guy sitting next to me at the Tampa show was about the same age, and his favorite albums, were my least favorite albums, go figure!
  22. Tampa show review: First set song list was less than ideal for this RUSH fan but the matierial was well received by the fans, and you could tell the boys were enjoying playing it, they were very enthusiastic musicians all night. The Analog kid was a standout in the first set. The CA songs were awesome live, and the strings were very cool! SCOG absolutely fookin rocks! I cant believe they rotate that one, best song of the night! Crowd was great, the amphitheater looked to be packed, and the boys played flawlessly on a perfect Nov. evening in Florida! Until next time!
  23. Its going to be almost impossible to top theTampa TM show back in 2010, but im ready to see if they can come close! Weather looking perfecto, will be tailgaiting with the crew by 5!!
  24. I'm so TIRED of the SAME SHIT. Stop ENABLING THEM TO PLAY THE SAME SONGS ALL THE TIME. Thers no crying is RUSHDOM! Hearing that opening riff to Limelight NEVER gets old to me, especially when it would be replacing a snoozer like Body Electric.
  25. Please please please play limelight instead of Body Electric in Tampa!! Looks like we will get SCOG which is muy bueno!!
