Synthesized Grace takes on the organic Snakes

I can remember pretty much every second of GUP whereas I have forgotten most of S&A, so it's pretty clear where my allegiance lies....

I can reassure you that eventually you will.

 

And even Good News First, The Way the Wind Blows and The Larger Bowl will be flushed with time.

I hate voting anything over Snakes & Arrows because it is so maligned on this forum, but it is going up against my favourite RUSH album here! It's funny though, even though I love every single song on Grace Under Pressure, my top 5 songs of the 21 available would ALL be from Snakes & Arrows. These are two of the best albums in their career.

Snakes suffers from being too long, but pare it down and there's a great album in there.

 

You say that, but I love some of the songs you would eliminate. It's not too long for me anyway, because I treat it as a 10 track album and ignore the instrumentals.

GUP is probably a Top 5 Rush album for me, so I knew this one right away.

 

I don't love nor hate S&A. GUP is a little more my speed, I feel.

The funny thing is that the first time I heard the word "organic" being used to describe Rush is when Geddy used it to describe Roll the Bones when that album was new. Is Geddy a "f***ing elitist" even though he certainly likes his synthesizer work and stuff from other bands from the 80s?
