When he warbles  his voice.

I knew what you meant, I just thought it was a funny term and it made me think of a bird. :)

I have always felt that Geddy's voice sounded better during the Hold Your Fire era.

That old stuff, there's no way I could sing along with it.
The new stuff, I can almost sing along!
Conclusion: recent voice is best voice! :haz:

I like Geddy's voice in the 70s equally to the 2000s, 70s because of the total going for itness, like he was singing for his life, and 00s because now there is so much emotion, also like he is singing for his life but different. for me all the middle decades were more about techniquey stuff and that sounds fine but doesn't interest me as much.

I voted late 80s.  I really enjoy the control he had during Power Windows, Hold Your Fire & Presto.  I've been listening to Hand Over Fist a lot lately and his voice is so smooth on that track.

I know what you mean.  No way could I sing along with the seventies' Geddy (except on rare songs - Rivendell, Panacea and maybe a handful of others).  Eighties are a problem too, and now he is too low but more doable.  :)
