So, any plans come together for a meet-up?

I suppose we should start planning. Being a creature of habit, I propose we do what we did the last two tours:

1. Meet at the Giant (grocery store) parking lot about 30 minutes prior to the time when gates open to the parking lot. It's 1-2 miles from the venue. It's also a good place for people to get last minute tailgating supplies. There is also a liquor store in the same area.

2. Once everyone is accounted for, we then CARAVAN together to the venue so we can all park in the same area.

3. We'll have helium balloons tied up for those who want to meet us at the venue rather than the pre-meet up.

4. Have a great time!!!

Sounds good - just need to know what time to meet everyone at Giant parking lot. Anyone know what time that is?

We'll have to figure out what time gates open. My guess is about 5:00 so we'd meet around 4:30.

No tix yet, but not worried. Should arrive in the next week, give or take. Here is the info from the MusicToday email :

For shipped tickets: By choosing UPS or US Mail, it does NOT mean that your tickets will be shipped out immediately after you process your order. Tickets will be shipped 10 business days (approximately 2 weeks) before the event date. If you have not received your tickets one week prior to the event date, please email tix@musictoday.com immediately. Non-delivery claims must be made no later than 48 hours prior to a weekday event and no later than Thursday evening prior to a weekend event. Day of show and weekend requests for assistance cannot be honored and no refunds will be made. Note: UPS does not deliver to PO Boxes.

Hi again,

Could anyone suggest the best way to get from the Hampton hotel at Dulles airport to the venue. There are six of us so we'd need some sort of people carrier, an RV i think you call it.

Are there any trains or coaches pass by?

Any advice would be great,

Thanks

Getting close now, eh? http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/1022.gif

Oh, still no tickets arrived here in Bonnie Scotland. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/confused13.gif

Got the ones for the Boston show about a month ago.

Not panicking just yet.

There appears to be more than 1 Hampton Inn from Dulles Airport. Regardless, you will need to get to route 28 South (Sully Road) to Interstate 66 (West). Go West about 10 Kilometers and get off on Route 29. There will be signs for the venue. I'm from out of town as well so you may be better off with some local help.

Anyway, public transportation such as subway or bus doesn't appear to be an option. If you don't have a rental car, I'd get a taxi. If you wish to join our tailgate, you can get dropped off at our meeting point. There will be enough of us driving to get you guys to the venue. Or if you prefer, you can meet us at the venue.

Rent a van. A cab can't even get in there to take you back after the show.

The venue is way out in the suburbs, and there is no public transportation option.

Just curious - did you pay extra to get them mailed to you quicker? I usually pick the NO-COST option at TicketMaster checkout and get my tickets in the mail within a few weeks of the show - and have never been screwed.

Anyways, just curious.

I bought them the day they went on sale and got them a few weeks later like the others. I didn't pay any extra...just the regular mail option.

Just got an email from tix@MusicToday.com - our tickets are in the mail and on their way to us. This is how it always works for us - we get the tickets for shows 3-4 weeks prior. It's all good.

I would definitely be interested in meeting up. I'll be with my older brother, who I will probably have to convince to get there early. He's the type that likes to get there on time and leave as soon as the last note plays (or sooner). Maybe he will be a little better with it being a Saturday night.

I'll be easy to spot, I will be 5 months pregnant with twins at the time, so you really can't miss me!! I also have the Man in Star/2112 tattoo on my leg as well!

Yipee,

Tickets for Washington arrived today in Scotland.

Thats the final piece of the puzzle for our mini tour.

Could someone give me the address for the store everyone is stocking up at prior to going to the venue for the tailgate.

I think we'll get a cab to that store, then take up the offer of a ride to the venue. Not too sure about how we're gonna get back from the show to the airport though. We'll figure something out at the time.

Really Really looking forward to the show and to meeting up with you all.

Thanks again to all for the guidance and help given. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/trink39.gif

Definitely rent a car. There will be quite the traffic jam on 66 and the sideroad to the venue. A taxi sitting in that would be pretty expensive.

The address for the pre-meet up shall be:

Giant #0257

7575 Linton Hall Road

Virginia Gateway

Gainesville, VA 20155

Telephone:

703-754-2040

I hope the link below works. It has a map with it. It's about a half mile south of I-66 right off of Route 29.

Clicky

If/when you look at the map, you will notice the proximity to Wellington Road (where the venue is located)

Apetersvt,

Thanks for all the info mate.

Think we'll get a cab to the store for the pre meet meet thing, then hopefuly get a lift or walk to the venue.

Thought about hiring a van, but it doesn't fit in with the drinking beer side of things. Not too sure how we're gonna get back to the hotel though. Will a cab come out to the store again, an hour or two after the gig? Whats the weather like in the evenings just now?

Soon be time for the adventure to start although the clock seems to be ticking a little slower lately....lol

Thanks again.
