Got to be a Rush "roadie" for a day and do the meet and greet! Spent entire morning setting up the stage for the Snakes and Arrows show and taking it down afterwards

  1. This Saturday will probably be my last show its definitely bittersweet. My first Ottawa Civic Center April 1 1978 (originally from Ottawa now in Va) my highlights were 6 shows and front row first time during PW tour. And of course some of you may have read my 20 hour day with Rush during S&A tour when I got to be a roadie for the whole day at Bristow. Whats your concert beginnings and highlights?
  2. They don't owe us fans anything at this point. They've pretty much paid us in full a long time ago especially after returning for VT. I'm cool with whatever they decide the future holds. I have a lifetime of memories from concerts, albums, dvd's to keep me going from this point forward. Like Neil said "It was quite a ride" Still sad though I will be fighting emotions after the encore at Bristow :(
  3. Came across this this morning :( :( Folks enjoy these shows and say your goodbyes I don't think we will see them again for any shows. :( http://ultimateclass...eson-arthritis/
  4. For those who are still holding on to the notion that this is not the end that's ok! In my opinion I truly believe this is it for them. I can't remember what interview or who said it (Geddy?) but I do remember one of them saying they would never announce a farewell tour that they would simply fade away and call it quits. The farewell notion doesn't interest them. If you have read the R40 tour book I cant imagine any fan not coming to that conclusion. It's there way of saying it without saying it and still giving us a chance to say goodbye. I will be enjoying show #55 at Jiffy Lube Live on 5/30 with that in mind and waving goodbye at the end. So fortunate to have grown up listening to their music for all these years. I mean gradating from HS same year as MP release doesn't get any better than that. Fond memories for sure!
  5. This is it. Let's be realistic folks. They are in their 60's!!! I'm hoping that it is actually. They will always be my rock heroes and I've seen them 54 times now. I have to admit Ged just doesn't have the chops anymore. Musicianship wise they are still on top of their games at 60 but Ged can't sing night in and night out he's been having good nights and lots of bad nights. The catalog frankly has been boring at times except for second half of Clockwork show that was refreshing. I am going this tour and I will be very sad to say goodbye but at the same time I think it's the right call now. You can only listen to Tom Sawyer and others so many times especially if Ged is struggling through it some nights. After the show at Jiffy Lube pass me the Kleenex!
  6. The stranger next to during intermission....DUDE you like know every song every beat every lyric and for Gods sake you even know when the pyrotechnics are going to go off. I got a kick out of that :-)
  7. As Geddy Lee in Lil Rush says "ill play the song anyway i want' C'mon were all fans here I don't care what songs they play I just want to see them and enjoy them cause folks they're not going to do this forever. I kind of got a little depressed last night when they were leaving the stage because that might be the last. You never know.
  8. Make me a reasonable offer. I would like to get some of my money back. Thanks
  9. One year on the Power Windows tour I had GA on the floor at the Ottawa Civic Center. First come first in so I showed up at 1:00 pm for a 6:00 door opening and I had to stand in line outside in basically a monsoon. It poured rain the entire time I was waiting in line. I was third in line and when the doors finally opened I ran like I've never ran before down the section stairs got to the hockey boards and put my left hand out and swung my legs over in one awesome motion ran to the stage and was front row 4 FT from Alex. Then we were like sardines the whole time and it was really hot. Awesome show my first front row experience and the shower at home afterwards was like heaven. :-)
  10. I have an extra ticket for tomorrow night in Baltimore my friend just had to back out. It is 20th row on the floor and I am selling it for what I paid for it $133 face value. Since I'm going I can meet you there for exchange. PM me if your interested. Thanks.

  12. It's my bday just got home from work to crank up my favorite band of all time........The Anarchist is epic such a great tune! Love everything about it especially the lyrics can't stop singing it......ok I need to calm down
  13. Finally a thread where some Rush fans get it! Well done! I agree I've seen them every tour since Hemispheres and I welcome the set list as it stands right now. I was getting tired of some of their every tour staples that have been left out. This show is exactly what I was hoping for. Could we switch out a song here or there for more 70's cuts? Sure songs like Xanadu, La villa, Natural Science etc could have been in the set list but they have been played already since Rush's Vapor Trails rebirth. I love Analaog Kid, Grand Designs, Manhattan Project and Body Electric in the set list because they haven't played these post VT on tour. The new CA stuff is the best part of the show for me I love all of them!
  14. Signals was released :-) haven't looked at the set list either. So bloody siked!!!
  15. I feel the same way. My friends and I were saying yesterday if you had said back when MP came out that the band would still be making music and touring in 2012 no one would have believed it. Let's appreciate that tonight and not worry so much about what's on the set list.
