esmeralda
QUOTE (NeilPeartFan2112 @ Nov 10 2004, 06:08 PM) From this list I would have to go with Dreamline. If I could choose any opener, I would have to go with Bastille Day. That would be awesome. I agree, Bastill Day would have been great as an opener, but from the list I chose Tom Sayer. Snowdog
Of those mentioned, I'll give the nod to TS. My reasoning: The VT tour was so anticipated by me and every other fan out there due to the extended break they took due to Neils misfortune. To have them come out on stage after all that time and blast into TS was an incredible experience for me. I still remember the absolute elation I felt at that moment. madra sneachta
QUOTE (paganoman @ Nov 11 2004, 02:38 AM) Everything from this point on is gravy." And I yelled... "F*CK YEAH!" There's not a chef in the world who could concoct gravy as good as that!!! Went with Tom Sawyer - There's something about that opening chord that says "WE'RE HEEEEEEEERE"

Snowdog
QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Nov 12 2004, 11:46 AM) Thinking about it, how One Little Victory be as an opener? It was awesome as the 2nd set opener on the VT tour. I think it would do nicely, good call Slaine.
Drumnut
I liked Dreamline but One Little Victory would be a great opener.
Slaine mac Roth
Also, from some of the boots I've got and the R30 Overture, Finding My Way is a pretty good way of kicking off.
Cygnus
The R-30 was kick ass
Slaine mac Roth
Definitely was. I must admit, though, I thought it would have been good if they'd swapped the encores around so Summertime Blues was last. That way, they would have opened with the first song off their first album and finished with the last song off their latest album
Snowdog
Ok, if I'm in a dreamland, they come out on stage and Geddy actually speaks first and says, "Good Evening, This is Cygnus X-1 Book 2: Hemispheres".
Ben_Roethlisberger
The Spirit Of Radio is a good opener. I like all the ones mentioned.

A Victim of Circumstances
TSOR works for me. Seems like it has the right thing going for it to kick off the show. I don't mind it opening first as there are so many others that are special that I know I won't be let down at any point.
ES-335
TS ... just like the way it transistions from the opening 3 stooges thing. But, I am reall easy to please when it comes to RUSH show openers ... even Rivendell would excite me ... although I would probably have to laugh a little. floydfanatic111
Dreamline by far. I remember after hearing the 2001 Theme intro and thinking what song they will start with and then we heard the sound effects and Neil's hi-hat hitting and Alex's riff and I was like, killer opening of Dreamline. Tick
i picked spirit , but on the next tour , i think a great opener would be show dont tell . that would be a powerfull opening.
Rush!
I voted The Spirit Of Radio. Tom Sawyer should be played, IMO, at the very end, or as part of the encore. Force Ten, The Big Money, and Dreamline should all be included somewhere in the setlist.
steelcaressed
Not even close...Spirit. Alex is always flawless on the opening.
