ATTENTION! ADULT LINK

Recommended Posts

I don't get it but whats new?...

The character in the first post is named 'Link', from the old Zelda computer games

Thanks mate. No wonder and the games must not be real old... :)

The game is from 1986. See the dude in my avatar? That's Link.

Well there ya go then. Its not real old as I figured. :codger: 86' is a year before my daughter was born (my first) and I had already dropped music and games for working harder (more), playing golf and bowling in my free time. When she was born that added another time consuming activity to the already busy mix and took priority obviously over all the rest... :)

Old really is relative. There are only a handful of franchises older than Zelda, and there are only a handful of games more popular and iconic than it as well. Have you heard of Mario or PacMan?

Yes. I used to stop by an arcade in the very early 80's often to play Donkey Kong mostly but I played plenty of Pacman and Galaga too...

Didn't know that. He looked like Mario to me. I am no gaming expert by anyone's definition. Not my thing and only interested me for a brief period in the early 80's. I haven't played any kind of game or gaming system since. Never have even owned a gaming system. Since Atari anyway... :codger:

Fred?

That looked like Link Wray to me, and seeing as the name of this thread what it is, I just assumed. Who is it?

We were close, so I just called him by his given name :)

Jumpman became Mario, in DonkeyKong.

It will always be my favorite.
