Why is everyone so obsessed with the post count?

 

I really don't care that much about post counts. I'm aware that I post a lot more than I used to...and it's cool that 73 does something to commemorate everyone who reaches post number 2112. But aside from that...I mean, it's not like we're all in a contest or anything.

I think it is a really rotten thing to take the joy out of posting here for many of us who take the place to heart because what we post or how many times we post doesn't meet your standards.

I don't really understand how your interpreting my post Lorraine, but I assure you I mean no harm or shaming to posters who worry about their post count. I have no standards to anyone on here as to how frequently or meaningfully they post.

 

To everyone I say post whatever you want. This forum is all for fun after all.

 

The intent of posting this topic was to question how people find the energy to type so much (and by meaningful, I mean that they put good thought into each post (not to mention good grammer and presentation in most posts too)).

 

I think the only time I really pay attention to the post count is when someone is a long awaited froind posting a possibly fishy topic in case they are trying to phish, but that has been extremely rare.
