Trying to figure out what ballpark from the scoreboard in the back ground. laugh.gif biggrin.gif Where is Test when you need him!! laugh.gif 653.gif

Maybe Shea stadium in NY or the old county stadium in Milwaukee biggrin.gif

Well, the picture is labeled as from Chicago, circa 1979... but that may or may not be accurate... unsure.gif

The old Comiskey Park of the White Sox I bet!! biggrin.gif

You are correct sir! trink39.gif Here's the definitive proof:

After a little research, they did play Comiskey Park in Chicago (former home of the Whitesox) on August 14, 1979 (PeW warmup tour) and the gig was a daytime one (10:00am start time) - see scan of ticket...

laugh.gif Foghat/Rush/Tubes!! biggrin.gif 1022.gif 10:00AM.. Those were the days! cool.gif

Great pic. thanx trink39.gif

The Chicago '79 show was definitely old Comiskey. I was there, it was my first show: Chicago Jam II. Rush was the headliner, pretty amazing show. They played early versions of The Spirit of Radio and Freewill prior to the release of Permanent Waves.

Anyone notice the synth on this picture?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v110/Jimyyz2112/Misc/Drawing1.jpg

Actually, that may not be a synth, but a kind of MIDI controller so that the light technician can sort of "play" the lights. I've seen a lot of MIDI-type controllers that look like mini-keyboards, but aren't used to actually play music.

actually it can be used to sync up pre recorded sfx too

True, but its usually used by THAT guy to cue lights. On S&A tour I saw the guy working that keyboard - it was pretty cool. I believe that most of not all music related triggers are done by the guys.

That's what you'd expect anyway.
