losingit2k
IMO Just be your definition alone, CA is better than Signals and GUP. (Signals is my favorite Album and holds my favorite song by the way) Most of the Best tracks on CA: Clockwork Angels Headlong Flight Caravan The Garden Seven Cities of Gold The Anarchist BU2B The Wreckers Carnies Halo Effect Are Better than the best tracks Signals: Subdivisions > Caravan Analog Kid = The Anarchist Chemistry < BU2B Digital Man < Headlong Flight The Weapon < Clockwork Angels New World Man < Seven Cities of Gold Losing It = The Wreckers (Actually, I'm starting to think The Wreckers is better) Countdown < The Garden Clockwork Angels > Signals And Better than the tracks on Grace Under Pressure Distant Early Warnings = Clockwork Angels AfterImage < The Anarchist Red Sector A < Headlong Flight Enemy Within < BU2B Body Electric < Caravan Kid Gloves < Seven Cities of Gold Red Lenses < The Wreckers Between The Wheels = The Garden Clockwork Angels > Grace Under Pressure And Better than the tracks on Power Windows The Big Money = Caravan Grand Design < The Anarchist Manhattan Project < Seven Cities of Gold Marathon = Headlong Flight Territories = Clockwork Angels Middletown Dreams = The Wreckers Emotional Detector < BU2B Mystic Rhythms < The Garden Clockwork Angels > Power Windows And you still have Carnies, Halo Effect, Wish Them Well and BU2B2 Which are really damn good. Honestly, with the exception of Subdivisions, I can find an equal or better track on CA than the rest of the tracks on Signals and GUP and PW. Sorry the facts don't lie! Just listening to the music is enough for me to determine that Clockwork Angels is better than everything after Moving pictures but it seems that many need to see the facts. The Vigilante
To me the GUP tour was one of the most powerfull sets of music i had ever seen.. just think MP and Signals were albums just on its heals. The Rush liveset archive was at its peak... You got a heavy dose of MP .. Sig .. Hemi ...PeW..and 2112 at those shows. Beyond that you had the GUP material, Which i believe is underated here... To me Power Windows sounded to bright on alot of songs... Territories has that punch i like. But i feel Rush went to soft for my taste on this album..Not that i dont enjoy it.. i do...It probable has a collection of some of Rushes most beautiful melodies in the sync era.. But when i hear the songs on GUP ... Afterimage... Red Sector A ... the enemy within ...The Body electric ...Red Lenses ... & Between the Wheels .I feel like this is Rush songs in distress . The power and aggressive edginess on some of these cuts i listed sound like a beautiful sync rock symphony. And woundn't be surprised to see alot of these songs played on this tour with the strings. Let the sharks bring on the thrasing now lol.. Edited June 25, 2012 by The Vigilante

Two0neOneTwo
QUOTE (metaldad @ Jun 25 2012, 03:14 PM) Better than both, Not the production however Cha ching...... Edit...nope changed my mind. PoW is better. Grace is better too. Just had to listen for a few hours one after the other. CA is not better than either. Not musically nor production wise. For me anyway. CA cannot touch anything in my opinion before Presto. Anything after, yea maybe. But not before. Its wearing off....I find myself doing the same thing I did with Snakes. Turning it off in favor of ANYTHING before Presto....and enjoying it much more. Dammit I so wanted to love this album. Cyclonus X-1
Well, Power Windows is my least-favorite Rush album by far... so, yeah, I'd take Clockwork Angels over it. Grace Under Pressure is a much tougher opponent. It has four spectacular songs (DEW, AI, RSA, TEW) plus a very good one (BTW). But with TBE it sinks far lower than CA does at any point, and CA matches its four spectacular songs and adds a heap of very good ones on top of that. CA is a much deeper album than GUP is. So I'm going to say that CA is better than both.

I know it's opinion but.....jeez new album euphoria, much? Mick I don't think its euphoria, not at all. Its a very careful observation. I like every track on CA, some I simply Love. This hasn't happened since Signals, hence thats the album I compare it to the most. At this moment, with the exception of Subdivision, I honestly believe that the tracks on Clockwork Angels are stronger than the tracks on Signals. My favorite song has always been Losing It and The Wreckers is really giving it a run for its money. Maybe I'm delusional, but after 4 Weeks, (Since I the Download). My opinion on CA hasn't changed it has actually become stronger with every listen. At first I knew it was better than S & A and VT, then Counterparts. After the Release of the actaul CD I knew we had a winner here cause lets face it, Its not hard to go from CP to PW, GUP and finally Signals. The songs on CA just keep growing on you. Thats a sign of a very good if not great album. Its not boring, repetitive or weak. On the contrary..It ROCK pretty damn hard!
