tas7
Haven't seen a topic on this, so apologies if there is one. To the right of the woman in the picture are three signs. When I first bought Permanent Waves, when it was released, my copy only had Lee in one of the signs.I found out there were copies with Lee and Peart, it took me ages to track down a copy with Lifeson added. Was there any significance why this was so?
English Muffin
I'm pretty sure it has their nicknames in them, "Lerxt, Dirk and Pratt" I think..
GeddyRulz
The cover has all three of their names in the signs - Lee, Lifeson, and Peart. It's more obvious on the vinyl record cover, since the picture is bigger. No, not Dirk, Lerxst, and Pratt. One of the signs originally said Coca-Cola, but Coke demanded it be removed from the picture - too close to this woman's panties. That's when Hugh Syme put the guys' names on the signs instead. tas7
Not seen that one but definitely the copy with Lee,Lifeson and Peart was hard to get in the UK at the time. Us mad Rush fans thought there must be some significance at the time.
J2112YYZ
I never even noticed the names before until this thread. I just checked my CD a minute ago and that's the first i've ever seen it.

tas7
There were definitely copies with one or two names. We thought there might be something special so I hunted down the album with all of the names which I have.Maybe something to do with pressings, probaly the other way round the rare copies having only one or two names. drbirdsong
http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z437/drbirdsong/PeWcov.jpg http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z437/drbirdsong/PeWcocacola.jpg You can see the names pretty good here. The big one also has the original "Dewey Defeats Truman" newspaper. It is an interesting cover. It seems simple at first and then the deeper you dig into it the more complex it gets. There is a lot of history to it: Scroll down the page a bit for the Permanent Waves section- http://www.2112.net/powerwindows/main/Wallpaper.htm
