As some of you know I'm not a big Eric Martin fan, but I've met him a few times and he really is a good guy. Very nice.

Anyway check out this interview if you have the time.

Eric starts talking about touring with Rush about 9 minutes in.

The opening part of the interview is very interesting too.

He almost tried out for Van Halen!

quote "alex and geddy were great fun but neil made me feel like an ignoramous".....typical b_sigh.gif

well-read, but not as smart as he's credited as being.

Let me guess.....not as good a lyricist as he's credited as being either? Not as good a drummer as he's credited as being either? angry.gif

Neil made me feel like an ignoramous = snob + bore = Peart

Hey Pat! I'm an IgnoRAMER! LOL! You know that's my last name!!

Well when I met Neil backstage by his tour bus next to his motorcycles I felt like a fukking IGNORAMER IN HEADLIGHTS!!

The man and I exchanged eyeball starring glances and then before I knew it he retracted back on his bus like a recluse spider and shut the door. Surreal!

Even back then on the "Vapor Trails" Tour when this went down the man was dressed like Johnny Cash. Neil was like The Man In Black with a red bloated melon with black greasy hair on top cascading down like fried seaweed.

Fuckking watermelon man looking for his next glass of red wine before showtime.

Probably was dying for a red apple too.

Signed,
