So this song came up on Spotify a little while ago, and the chorus has the phrase "it's always darkest before the dawn" in it, and it got me thinking....

 

...that's completely wrong.

 

The darkest part of night, barring any artificial light or reflected moonlight, is the midpoint between sunset and sunrise. Right?
