All in all,the show is extremely original, witty, and a beacon in the wasteland of TV in this generation

Come on, the 2000s were an awesome decade for TV (Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Dollhouse, Dexter, Weeds, Buffy, Sopranos, 30 Rock, The Office, Community, Parks&Recreation....), and there are some excellent shows on right now....

Don't tell me My Little Pony is the only good TV show our generation has to look back on. That's just crazytalk.

In terms of animation in this generation... It reminds me so much of the golden years of animation in the 90's, the stuff I grew up with.

2000's were relatively sparse for animation, though. It had a few good seasons of Spongebob, some Adult Swim/Groening/Macfarland stuff, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and Fairly Odd Parents. Maybe I'm missing a couple, but animation slacked for a while after the 90's. But maybe that's because I stopped being a small child in the mid-2000's. tongue.gif

I hear ya. Guess I've never been a big animation buff. I've always been a South Park fan and that's about it.

I just started watching a new Comedy Central animated series called Ugly Americans. Ever heard of it?

I've watched a couple episodes of it... Too early to judge. I wasn't a huge fan at first blush, but that's how I am with a lot of things I end up really liking (Sarah Silverman Program, and MLP of course)

I've only watched one ep. I have mixed feelings. Funny but a bit much. I'll watch a few more and see how it goes.

Sarah Silverman Program! Oh man, I adore her. There's something about women with a sense of humor... especially a dirty sense of humor. I've only watched 5, 6 episodes. Never really got into it but you've convinced me to give it another look.

I love it. Has more replay value than 99% of series I've seen.

I wasn't always a big fan of Dashie, but now she's threatening to become my favorite.

Season 2 finale was awesome!!!! Anyone else see it?

That was a great finale.

I'm glad they grouped both episodes into an hour block. Couldn't imagine how that cliffhanger the first part left if it had been a week's wait to finish it off.

The whole 'Twilight has a brother' kind of came out of left field; we're on episode 51 of whole series, oh wait, Twilight also has a brother laugh.gif . Ah well, I thought the story as a whole was pretty nice and tight. Interesting that Meghan McCarthy has written some of my favorites: Lesson Zero, Sweet and Elite, Hearts and Hooves day, Party of One and Dragonshy. I have to agree with another comment I read somewhere on the internet that the resolution of the evil queen is rather quick from the build-up of the whole story. But I figure time might have been an issue maybe.

Personally I've missed seeing some of that darkness/magical/fantasy packed-ness that the previous episodes, Marzipan Mascarpone Meringue and Ponyville Confidential and maybe even beyond that, had been lacking. Don't get me wrong, I still do love all the various forms of comedy stuck in from physical door gags to references of other shows/films (loved the Dudley Do Right spin-off), but previous episodes seemed to be stuck in a lighter mood. So I was happy to see a little bit of heavy/darker mood come back into play, what better than for the finale too! The first time watching on the live stream I almost thought it was even too heavy, "this is a children's show!??!" and I still think that thought, especially for this second season.

That second song, the interplay between good and evil is pretty well done. Awesome singer on that one too. Smile, smile, smile is my favorite, most people know me as Smiley after all! After landing on this bandwagon since January though, I would not expect anything less from Danial Ingram/William Anderson now.

I was a bit bummed Celestia was defeated so fast, think I missed that 'love has made me strong than anything' speech. So I might blame myself on that one. Heh, Frisky Dingo comes to mind on that one; Celestia's first on screen battle: "i know like, drag it out some more." Missed a bunch of details on the stream, so watching it on youtube in 720 I finally got to see some cool details. Twilight grabbing dat smarty pants doll, a teddy-bear on her bed too 0_o. Those snake eyes were awesome! The whole underground reflection sequence was extremely well done too. The crowd ponies in the wide pan wedding scene, so much detail, repeats abound but nevertheless.

I thought the finale is one of the best ones I've seen yet. The songs were a bit sub par, I disliked BBBFF quite a bit, but as enviro tech said, the good/evil song was well done, one of my favorites of the series. It had a complex story, good singing, and brilliant animation. I hope the changlings make an appearance later next season with Discord. I feel the first season was mostly introducing us to the characters, but now that we know and love them, the episodes are getting more complex and their personalities and friendship grow stronger

I agree BBBFF was a bit too "Pop" for my tastes

What I did love was the last song, "Love in Bloom," because when you listen to it in the right context, it's amazing and it just feels like it puts everything together

How much closer has a pony ever come to swearing?

I burst out laughing at this. The other students were staring at me a bit strangely. What made it funnier was the fact that it looked like the confetti surprised Pinkie as well.

I based mine around this one here I found on Google Images. I made pushed certain areas around so if you color them in, they look like they were animated on the show.

I made sure my pony included the Unicorn horn and the wings so they could be removed or added anytime I pleased.

Rush fans are a rich blend of many cultures from across the world and the internet. We come from all levels of the social hierarchy. As we all unite under the music of Rush, despite our varying tastes in music, we all acknowledge their greatness. The same can be said for My Little Pony. We all share different tastes in cartoons and tv shows, yet we see their ignorance and innocence and it gives us a painful twang in our hearts that reminds us of our childhoods. This rich blend of people all share a brotherhood under the magic of friendship.

Have you tried starting a thread like this over at the Maiden boards yet?

I didn't think so.
