Rearranging albums?

I just deleted "Second Nature" and "Tai Shan" from Hold Your Fire and moved "High Water" to the fourth spot, and I was completely blown away by how much more I appreciated the album. It still isn't one of my favorites - no amount of track-shuffling will get rid of that overwrought production - but I actually enjoy listening to it as an album, now, and it works far better for me than the original version ever did.

 

I know that moving "Turn the Page" to the end of Hold Your Fire is nothing new around here, but I was curious to see if anybody else had had similar successes with other albums.

I always thought Signals could do with a re-ordered track-listing.

 

1. Countdown

2. Digital Man

3. New World Man

4. Losing It

5. The Analog Kid

6. Chemistry

7. The Weapon

8. Subdivisions

 

On a side-note, it's good to see someone around here who finds "Second Nature" and "Tai Shan" to be the bottom two on HYF

I never rearrange track orders because I believe that albums are meant to be heard how the artist intended but I always thought that Countdown and New World Man should have been switched.

on Fly By Night I take away "Rivendell" and put "Fly By Night" last after "In The End".

 

On AFTK I put "Cygnus X-1" after "Xanadu".

Agreed! I LOVE Second Nature. One of my favorite Rush songs! HYF is incomplete without it!
