The Bay Area Battle Of The Bad Ass Bands: 1991

Thanks to the Bungle thread I'm on a 1990's Bay Area Bands obsession.

The early 90's were awesome to the Bay Area.

 

Three of my all time favorite albums from that time period were actually all released in 1991.

 

It's also interesting to note that Mr. Bungle and Limbomaniacs both had songs that were dedicated to the great porn scene of the late 80's and 90's.

 

The Limbomaniacs have a classic tune entitled "Porno" and Mr. Bungle of course have an epic song called "The Girls Of Porn."

 

Both bands mention the greatness of Ginger Lynn. She of course was my favorite porno star as well back then. Hell, I still love her!

I was lucky enough to have met her a few times back in the day.

She's a Legend.

 

It's like saying that Rush is my favorite band, and Ginger is my favorite porn star.

 

Anyway I'm totally off track right now.

 

1991 was a great year. Speaking of Rush it was great to see Primus open for Rush on the "Roll The Bones" Tour.

 

A double bill that will never ever be matched. JMO

 

So which album is the best to your ears?

 

As much as I love all three I have to give the edge to Primus.

 

They SUCK! Just like Ginger Lynn!

Probably Primus, but Tower of Power is my 'bay area' band.

I hate to cut Primus, they're so good (plus all those spinoffs, Sausage etc.) I guess I'm just in a Bungle mood lately.

 

Maybe I ought to spin some Primus to balance things.

I love Sausage!

 

Get Jay Lane is in Primus, but Tim Alexander will always be my favorite.
