1 of the 7
I like it...it's both funny and wistful, and I like the musical style. Some of Geddy's vocals are a little...hmm...but not too bad.
Silas Lang
I dig Dog Years . Musically it flat out rocks. Doesn't at all deserve the amount of ridicule it routinely receives. It's better lyrically than "Test For Echo" which isn't criticized nearly as much. I relate this song to an old quote of Neil's from the 80s where he talked about feeling cheated by there being so many things he wanted to but being given only a limited number of years in which to do them. I sense some anger in the song and the chorus is defiantly triumphant. Then there's the cool "I'd rather be a tortoise..." section which is reflective and transcendental. Good song.
