LaBrie is talented but he can't even hold the cod of Halford, Tate and Dickinson.

Those guys are the BIG THREE.

Off topic:

I will take Russell Allen (Symphony X) over Halford anyday.

Allen is a great singer.

He is but, there is only One Metal God and it is Halford 1022.gif . Allen's vocals can get a little annoying at times imo

I think I was just shocked at how weak the singer was on this song in compasrison to Ged. Not sure what I expected. Something close I guess.

Dream Theater has a LOT of masterpiece works, but these are all showcsasd in their early albums. If you want a VERY epic Rush-like song with fairly strong vocals, try he album "Images and Words", specifically the 9 minute track "Metropolis Part 1".... thsi is the song that got me into Dream Theater.

Even through all this, you shouldn't expect a Rush clone... because it isn't one, nor should it be. If every group sounded the same, it would b boring.. and if you constantly expect that, you set youself up for disappointment.

Once again in defense of James LaBrie's vocals, listen to this cover of "Number of the Beast"..... IMO sung VERY well, and at parts its hard to tell if it's LaBrie or Dickinson..... very well done..

I have this cd. Only could listen to it once.

His voice is good at times, but then he fails.

I really don't like the way Mike's snare sounds on this record either.

Nothing like Nicko's.

Ironically, he sat right next to me at a Dream Theater concert in N.Y.C.
