Earthshine
MAN! This song just gives me chills! Written by non other than Jimmy Page, the song also features Jimmy on 12 string guitar, Keith Moon on drums (who you can hear yell at 1:33!), John Paul Jones on bass and Nicky Hopkins on piano. I was wishing Jeff would have played this live when I saw him last month. But it is on the Live At Ronnie's CD and DVD. Just listen to that slide playing! RUSHHEAD666
As usual I totally agree. Great stuff!!!!! A+++++++++++++++++++++ I would take Jeff Beck though over Jimmy Page any day! Sorry, "TURN THE PAGE!" Love, RUSH
ReRushed
Yeah, it's a forgotten gem for the most part. When you think about it, it's an incredibly important song in rock music history.
ozzy85
I'd forgotten I have it somewhere! Influential, too. Check out How Many More Times by Led Zep or the last half of Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath...
Silas Lang
Totally agree...fantastic song!
Necromancer
Ummm, isn't this Ravel's Bolero, just done by a rock band? Sure sounds like it.
apetersvt
I won't quote it as one of the greatest songs ever but it certainly kicks ass and is unde rappreciated.
Earthshine
QUOTE (Necromancer @ Jun 27 2010, 08:20 PM) Ummm, isn't this Ravel's Bolero, just done by a rock band? Sure sounds like it. No. It is very different. Ravel's Bolero is in 3/4 time. Beck's Bolero is in 4/4 time. The melody is also completely different. They are both great. But I prefer Beck's Bolero.
