Has anyone noticed the amount of advertising ESPN is placing on the 2010 World Cup. it's like a poker game and they're going ALL IN with U2 as the theme songs.

i haven't noticed it yet but thanks for the warning. nothing that a mute button can't cure.

I've noticed the advertising. Plus, it seems ESPN has reported more soccer news on 'Sportscenter' in the past year than ever before. I wonder if it'll continue after the World Cup?

That won't help their cause for victory.

England's captain, Rio Ferdinand out of the World Cup. ohmy.gif Ivory Coast's Drogba broke his arm but I guess he could play just like Lineker did in 1986 in Mexico.

First games tomorrow. Mexico takes on South Africa. A tricky match for the Mexicans because we all know how much help the host nation gets from different sources at this type of event. Mexico can feel confident however, after beating Italy a few days ago 2-1. In the second game, France faces Uruguay. The roosters must be considered favorites although not in Irish pubs. laugh.gif 12 hours and 47 minutes to first kick off! 1022.gif

South Africa vs Mexico currently underway!

I am cheering for South Africa, but judging by some of their defensive blunders, it might not be long before Mexico gets on the board. eh.gif

(BTW...I dunno if everyone can get them, but for sure in Canada, you can go to www.cbc.ca, and click on the live stream link to watch the games LIVE on your PC!) 1022.gif

The France/Uraguay game was boring as hell. Tomorrow we get to watch Messi and the USA/ England game. Should be much more entertaining.

Now, this is exactly how a World Cup should be; with game times that suit the European audience! A game an evening for the next month is going to be heaven.

If only Wales were in it, you'd be in seventh heaven!

The announcers were putting me asleep too, where's the guy with the long goooooaaaaallllll call? They need to pump up the action like they do in hockey keeps you glued to the game.
