WIDE-ANGLE WATCHER
I dug this recording out of my collection. It's called Mirrors, recorded 1/30/92 at the Oakland Coliseum. My buddy says it was an authorized recording. I don't believe him. I haven't seen it mentioned on the bootleg thread though. He says he bought it in Germany back in the day, doesn't sound 'authorized' to me. It does sound good though. Show Don't Tell
Yeah, it's definitely a bootleg. It was recorded from a soundboard feed, which is why it sounds so good. Godeater2112
It's a bootleg, but one of the better sounding ones I've ever heard anyways. I believe that is the boot where I especially love the synth intro to Distant Early Warning.
WIDE-ANGLE WATCHER
Thanks for the info. It was all packaged up nice and he thought it was a new live album, at the time. He just called me, from Germany, and our debate was rekindled. I told him there are hundreds of bootlegs now. He still thinks it's real, even with the German writing and fake Anthem label. We do agree that it is a great sounding disc.
Slaine mac Roth
I've got this one as well and it does sound great - even if it isn't one of their best performances in my opinion. The way I heard it (and I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong), it was a soundboard recording done for Les Claypole out of Primus but someone swiped it before he could collect it - hence the high quality
CygXanTor
Yup, got this one too...total bootleg....love those sound board swipes, they are the best! Btw, I haven't listened to any boots lately, thanks for reminding me to give them some attention! Edited May 19, 2010 by CygXanTor
ytserush
One story that had been going around was that it was Les Claypool's soundboard recording that this show was taken from as Primus was the opening band that night (and on most of the tour). Not sure if that was ever verified. It is one of the better shows from that leg of the US tour.
TheGhostRider
If that's the case that's an interesting story. It is definitely a great sounding Show since Its from the Soundboard, I've even hears some people call it the greatest Rush Show ever and the "Definitive Show".
