Cinco De Mayo

Mr. Not

Recommended Posts

So half the people who go to my school are Mexican, and for my freshman and sophomore year cinco de mayo just flat out annoyed me - because to my knowledge they're the only ones who celebrate their country, so in a way it's like they're saying "we're superior". But I never complain, I keep my thoughts to myself because it really isn't that big of a deal, it's just one day.. (and why I'm sharing my thoughts here you'll soon find out) But today's cinco de mayo was crazy (or loco http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/tongue.gif if you will).. Turns out other people are more annoyed and empty hearted about cinco de mayo than me.. Because there was a large group of people who wore shirts with the American flag on it to rebel cinco de mayo, and one freshman girl (a f***ing freshman girl.. 13 or 14 years old?) even had a printing of "WP" under the flag.

WHAT... THE... f**k

I can't stop thinking about how crazy today was, and there was several fights of course.. It was like a little racist hell in our little high school (which is named Casa grande by the way... heh). And it really got me thinking of the reasons people dislike mexicans so much, and to be honest I think the whole situation is just screwed up.. I just can't stop thinking about how crazy today was and need to share.

This is America, NOT Mexico. Mexican holidays should be celebrated in Mexico. I have no problems with Mexican people, but I do have a problem with people of any ethnicity, legally or illegally living in this country, who can't speak English and celebrate holidays that are not American. That is all.
