Earthshine Posted February 2, 2010 Share Posted February 2, 2010 Not one of Steely Dan's most popular albums, The Royal Scam has some great tunes on it. In fact, every one of them is great. Everything You Did has some simply perfect drumming from (I am almost certain) Bernard Purdie. Love those fills! And the guitar solo! By of all people but Larry Carlton. The tune is simply fantastic. Very picturesque. You can hear the whole mood and story of the song in the music. When musicians can do that they are indeed artists. This video is pretty cool too. I have a fairly large collection of rare and live SD including the outakes to Katy Lied. I even saw Larry Carlton back in the 80's in Buffalo. It was a small club and i was front row.
