Earthshine
I voted for Childress. He is the coach and the boss. He is simply watching out for Favre's safety. After all, he is 40. Favre is showing childishness and immaturity. If he were truly humble he would shut up and trust his coach and listen to him.

raygun47
Childress is right...but you bring in Favre, he's gonna want a say in how things get done. I'm talking about the offense here, which is what I figure the reason behind the "pulling" was in the first place. He wasn't concerned for Favre's safety in a 7-6 game with home field on the line. He wanted to prove a point, and Favre proved his in the process. It's Favre's team just like Butler said it was. You know, no one was saying a whole lot over the first twelve games. Was this a problem then? And if you're Favre, and this just comes up in the last three games...what would you say? I'd say this to Chills... "Take me out of the equation and this team is finishing 10-6 or 9-7. So...if I see something, I'm checking the same way I have for the last 12 games, and if you don't like it...bench me and play Jackson or Rosenfels. I'm an MVP candidate and you owe your 5 year deal to me coming in and carrying your ass. I don't think you can sit me down even if you want to, so shut up from here on out." Which is what I think he said behind closed doors. But...simple question... Childress is right technically.

Childress is in the wrong here. He brought in Favre because his ass was on the line. He knew what he was getting with Favre, so dont be surprised. They might be .500 without Favre. Childress can thank Favre for his extension.

Childress is right in that you can't (or shouldn't) come to the line expecting the called play not to work...but you bring this guy in, you know what's coming. If you didn't, then you didn't do your homework. They're a way better team with Favre on the field. It's too late now to bitch. Childress is right in theory but wrong in approach, and he shouldn't have started this now.

RUSHHEAD666
I voted for Favre. I heard something very interesting on the TV while watching a Colts game. The announcer said that Peyton Manning is the only quarterback in the NFL who calls his own plays. I think Favre is in the same league as Peyton, hence Brett should be able to call his own plays. I think Favre is in the same league as Peyton, hence Brett should be able to call his own plays. But the buck stops with the coach. Common sense tells us that a veteran QB should have an opinion on the plays. I can see why a coach would let Manning call the plays. But the final decision for ANYTHING regarding the team should come down to the coach. Did you notice that Manning bowed to his coach when he sat him?
