I noticed that I recognized every single name on that list.

Which means that there are a LOT guys older than me who either just dismissed that list as idiotic, or....if they cared.....are completely ticked off that its author refuses to acknowledge that "all-time" does indeed go back before 1983.

Did you even read the article? The list is only of QBs of the last 25 years. He wasn't addressing all players of all time.

I think his point of going back 25 years is to represent an era.

I probably should have kept it with the article. Oh well, read the article liver lips tongue.gif

Is Florida the only team in the SEC that is loaded?

Yes, they are. To that extent.

Nevertheless, Florida will NOT win the National Championship this year. I guarantee it.

I dont buy the fact that the rest of the team is making him look *that* good. Guys a stud if you ask me.

I live down here and I really don't get the Tebow deal.  He is perfect for the system he is in and is a great leader.  Some of the rest of it is over the top imo.

Rushing for more than 20 TD's and passing for more than 20 TD's in the same season doesn't impress you? And in the very tough SEC?

He threw 30 TDs and had only 4 picks last year.

No mention was made about being impressed or unimpressed.

Did you look at the "covers?"

This is barely tongue in cheek.

There is a ton of people out there who not only think he is the best ever but should also be raised to some level of sainthood. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout.

Well then you'll need to get used to it. He's an outstanding player and will be remembered as long as college football is around. He's a champion and a true leader and the likes of him are very rare. He's getting press because of his performance.

I don't know if you are sick of him because he's in the SEC or if you don't like to see people get the accolades they deserve. Whatever the reason, you have a negative feel for him and I don't see where it is justified.

If he was a thug or a braggadocios prick, I could understand your attitude. But he's neither and that's why I don't get your negativity.

See the difference?

Here's the part that sucks about the whole thing.

WHEN somebody beats Florida this year (I believe it will happen) the story will NOT be about the team that won the game. It WILL be about how Florida lost the game, how Tim Tebow feels about it, has Tebow lost his luster, did Urban Meyer set Tebow up by calling the wrong plays, should Tebow have gone to the NFL now that Florida's undefeated season is ruined, etc.

Now, do YOU see the difference? Those of us in the SEC are very proud of our team and our allegiance to that team. To call one player and one team out over all the others really grates against us. That this team is a rival to a number of teams in this region (Florida State Georgia and even Tennessee still to a certain extent) magnifies the irritation that we feel.

Given all that, I wonder this: given that you appear to be a Texas Longhorn fan, if Tim Tebow played for Oklahoma or Texas A&M and he was getting all this press coverage, might you feel differently?

I would not feel differently if he played for OU. I actually root for the teams in my conference when they play bowl games or out of conference games because it benefits my team.

The SEC is not unique in regards to being proud and having allegiance. You can let that one go chief.

I like great players in any sport and what Tebow has done supercedes what anyone has done in your conference or in college football for the last several years. He's the best player on the best team. Or at least the best team over the last few years.

I stated before that I thought Florida would lose a game this year. I don't see anyone going undefeated in any major conference this year.

You should youtube the halftime speech he gave during the BCS Championship last year. The Gators are his team and every player on that team follows him. He is a natural leader.

I've never been a sour grapes type of person and this is what is going on with you two. Nothing but sour grapes.

Yeah, I can see it going down like that..

But this happens in ALL sports when a player or team from certain cities that have always been the traditional favorite and focus of media attention end up losing, the team that beats them usually doesn't get the full credit they deserve.

Some brief examples concerning my Cleveland teams, The Browns played there only perfect game last year beating the Giants. (Browns didn't win, Giants beat themselves.)

2007 Indians beating the Yankees in the playoffs (Same thing,What did the Yankees do wrong to lose to Cleveland ?and don't want to hear about that gnat B.S., Tribe pitcher Fausto Carmona had to pitch in the middle of that insect swarm also! tongue.gif )

And to some degree Cavs losing to Magic last year in Eastern conference finals. LeBron have to admit was the sole focus of the media and Cleveland was suppose to face the Lakers in finals. No one wanted or expected Orlando to win. The Magic like Rodney Dangerfield get no respect..

I've never been a sour grapes type of person and this is what is going on with you two. Nothing but sour grapes.

Paragraph 1: I think we'll have to agree to disagree. If OU led by Tebow beat Texas by 50, I know for a fact that you would feel some disdain every time the man's name was mentioned. There is not a single player on any team on Florida's SEC schedule this year that doesn't want Florida so bad that they can taste it.

Paragraph 2: I never said we were unique, so quit putting words in my mouth...chief. Name for me one player that has gotten as much hype as Tim Tebow. I'll save you time, there isn't one. Is he a really good college QB? No doubt. But I don't need to be reminded every time I turn the TV on looking for info and analysis for MY team, which is NOT Florida.

Paragraphs 3 & 4 are your opinion , so no comments there.

The natural leader thing may be true....but see comments above, it's overkill.

And then the sour grapes comment....what an interesting thing to accuse someone of. But I have been consistent in my position of enough about Tebow (as in I'm tired of hearing about him, and his position as the greatest ever is highly debateable), so that one doesn't stick to me no matter how many times you throw it.
