The Owl
Here is a little game I want to play. It is a this or that, but the songs you pick have to have the same title (or simular), but ARE NOT COVERS. The first choices should give you a good idea....... "Changes" by David Bowie vs "Changes" by Black Sabbath (see two completly diffrent songs, just a simular title.)

The Owl
Mabey I didn't make this entirely clear.....but I though the "This or That" would imply it. You have to pick a winner from the songs that the poster above you posted, before you post your two songs.............

Money - Yes and Pink Floyd Seven Days - Sting, Queen AND Craig David There's a VERY popular Italian song from the 80s called Gloria. I'm pretty sure Branigan's song is an Anglisized (sp?) cover. The Doors' Gloria is also a cover of a Them (Van Morrison) song if I'm not mistaken. Collective Soul had a huge hit in the early 90s with a song called Shine as well. H. P. L.
QUOTE (Rushian King @ Oct 8 2008, 06:35 PM) There's a VERY popular Italian song from the 80s called Gloria. I'm pretty sure Branigan's song is an Anglisized (sp?) cover. You are perfectly right: the original Gloria is by italian (cheesy) singer-songwriter Umberto Tozzi. You can listen and feast your eyes here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T-2OHLWtGg Laura Branigan's is simply a cover with english lyrics. And it was bazillionly succesful in Italy too. Rushian King
H.P.L. are you Italian? I don't think, at least at the height of his popularity, Tozzi's music was viewed as cheesy-- although Gloria is. If your're anywhere near Toronto you can see him in concert soon, at Casino Rama. I'm NOT going.
Fridge
Are you all a bit dim or something? The Owl has clearly posted several times the objective of this thread, which is to choose two similar song titles by different bands. The next person then has to pick a winner and come up with two of their own etc etc
