I work late, and 40 minutes from my home. Then from my house its a 2 hour train ride to N.Y.C. I'm financially strapped reguardless, but i'll be there is spirit, you know, kinda like the ghost with all the chains on in Scrooge. I missed this. Damn, I was hoping you could make it. I was really looking forward to your humor. It is truly awesome!! Believe me Trout, I would love to be there, its just not good timing for me. We will hopefully meet again someday. PassTheAmmunition
I'm pysched that Pags can make it. Owl, I'm very sorry to hear about your knee....you better rehab that before the next Pagscon. Tick brother, sad to hear you cant make it but I'm hopeful that there will be another opportunity to hang out. Re: the MEAT reference..yes, its an inside joke from Pagscon. I'm still on the probably most-likely list, but I should know by next week. Hope you can make it Ed. Bring that frisbee along and we will throw it off the top of the Empire State Building!! troutman
I am leaving for NY tonight. So instead of starting a new thread, PTA was nice enough to let me post it all here. Hopefully I will be able to check in and post some pics. in a day or two. If not, maybe after Slacker sends me on my way home!!

eguy
If a location hasn't been picked yet, I'll throw in another suggestion: Oddfellow's Louisiana Bar and Restaurant It's across the street from the Hoboken train station, which is a short PATH ride from Manhattan. It's also got parking garages close by, so Pags can practice a fireman's carry on Owlswing if she wants to join the fun.
Natch
Oddfellow's is a great place. I love the Cajun menu they have there. Hoboken, in general, is a great place to hang out. If everyone wants to start there, I'm ok with that. It might make sense from a logistical standpoint to start in midtown, since it's more centrally located. I mentioned to PTA that we might want to start at Stout on 33rd St in NYC. We had the TRF meetup there before the Rush show at the Garden in September. So, many of us already know where it is. It's a HUGE place, and can easily accomodate us. And, it's right across the street from my office
PassTheAmmunition
Jeesh...all you lazy SOBs that want to go across the street from where you work Listen, since Trout is heading into the city and will be in the city (and arguably wants to experience the city) we should minimally start in NYC. Dont get me wrong, I live in NJ and Hoboken is an easier option since its "on the way". But personally, Id be up for experiencing a bit of the bars in the city. Starting at Stout isnt a bad idea IMO Like I said though, I am open. Pags, Trout, Slacker and others feel free to chime in. I'll be looking to firm up the list of people attending so we can coordinate a meating place and time PTA

Natch
QUOTE (eguy @ Oct 9 2008, 02:55 PM) but the view of Manhattan is great from Hoboken I agree. The view of Manhattan is much better from Hoboken than it is from 33rd St. Great place to hang out with a view of Manhattan is Trinity in Hoboken on Frank Sinatra Drive....next corner from your building, Eguy. PassTheAmmunition
So far, for next Thursday night we have the following people as confirmed: Pags Natch Troutman Slacker eGuy PassTheAmmo Anyone else? Early part of next week I will send out a vote on several places and a meatup time Also, I recall a few of you are attending the Buddy Rich Memorial Concert on Oct 18th. I just learned over at RIAB that the concert will be streamed live over the Internet onThe Drum Channel Pretty freaking sweet. Edit: Okay folks, I'm going to have to stop using the 'meat' reference to describe this event. I had good intentions when I started it - none of which had to do with the fact that this gathering looks like it will be 100% guys. I wasnt at all hinting at a sausage-fest. Honestly. GhostGirl
I still get a kick out of people making plans to get together, just to see each other (meaning, not necessarily for a Rush show) - all because of this board. Pretty cool. Enjoy it, y'all.
