Too much CG, not enough decent storytelling? Very good book if you like the genre. Peter Straub has all be been eclipsed by King. I like him better. You almost can't compare King and Straub anymore; they've gone in different directions. And I loved the book. . .don't know how I missed the movie. I wish someone would do a movie version of 'The Talisman', the King/Straub collaboration. Not a screen version. . .too much would need to be cut from it. But a series. . .would be great. I love that book and re-read it every so often.
Finding IT
QUOTE (MalNarpet @ Oct 2 2008, 07:17 PM) QUOTE (umoveme @ Oct 2 2008, 07:00 PM)Anyone see "The Changeling" with George C. Scott??? yeah saw it as a kid. What I remember most about it was a an old-fashioned wheelchair moving around by itself. Freaked me out. Also scary was just the commercial for "Magic" with Tony Hopkins. It had a ventriloquist's dummy speaking. I remember being terrified of that commercial. The dummy said a little poem. I remember the last line was, "Magic is fun. We're dead." or some such.

Rushman14
My mom used to make me watch this when I was a little kid and it scared the hell out of me. it's a great ghost story and still holds up well today. Not to be confused with the horrible remake. http://funster.us/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/The-Haunting-1963-.jpg

Presto-digitation
I saw Ghost Story (Fred Astaire's final film) when it was released (81) in the theaters and it scared me. I saw it again recently and it hasn't aged well at all. It's like a made for TV film...and not a very good one at that.
