Live And Let Die was actually pretty serious to me.

One of my favorites. And I think Moore does a great job in that one. It also has the funniest character in the whole franchise; Sheriff J.W. Pepper.

I love that guy. He comes back in 'The Man with the Golden Gun'.

Sean Connery will always be the best, but Daniel Craig is also pretty damn good!

Dr. No and Casino Royale are the best Bond films imo. Roger Moore was a little too old and campy. George Lazenby was a joke! Timothy Dalton was ok, I like him better than Brosnan. I don't like the Brosnan movies, they're just no good. I hope they keep making movies like Casino Royale, that one kicked ass! I've been watching Bond movies since I was a little kid, and I still enjoy them.

So, the franchize was serious until "You Only Live Twice" huh? Was this serious?

No. Not at all. Read my earlier posts, James Bond is not to be taken seriously. The Bond films started to become a self-parody starting with You Only Live Twice.

ironic part, the next movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service was not a parody, at all.
That is why that movie sucked and did bad

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is a very good movie. In retrospect, it's one of the best in the entire series.

Simply put, the Bond films didn't start off as spoofs or parody. They weren't serious movies by any means, they were entertainment. The absurb part of that entertainment was later spoofed and became parody. That's all.

Would agree pretty much. Sean is still head and shoulders above the rest.....but Casino Royale was the best i have seen for some time. Look forward to seeing the next in line...

I picked Daniel Craig because he was so awesome in Casino Royale and was actually pretty believable as Bond.

Roger Moore was the guy I knew best as James Bond growing up though, so he'd likely get my 2nd place vote.

I think the best line in the whole franchise comes from Moonraker though, at the end.

"What's James doing?"

"He's attempting re-entry."

Hahaha, or something like that. It was funny as hell though.

That was hilarious! But Moonraker itself was a piece of garbage to me 062802puke_prv.gif

But that line was pure gold!
