HowItIs
Oh, we need an adjective in front of "percussionist" to describe Pratt. How about "Master"? Because I'm a percussionist and I am lowly compared to him. He can be Jedi Master Percussionist! With you on the writing. I love his "voice"; he makes the reader feel like they are there. He's very good at bringing the landscape to life, inner and outer. His lyrics... well that's one reason I fell in love with Rush in the first place. And that's a great picture, too! But... fffff "Jedi Master Percussionist"? I'm a Trekkie, bah. D: But whatever you say. The Jedi are pretty sweet. |3 I'd say he's the Q of Percussion but I doubt anyone would get the reference. Agreed on his "voice" in writing... though to be honest I love his physical voice too. On the writing though! He has wonderful voice. It's truly a part of writing that's not all that simple to achieve. The way he can put his words into such a poetic form and yet make it relatable for everyone astounds me to no end. Some of the songs he's written for are certainly more personal but I love them all the same. I personally think some of his best work is in "Losing It" and "2112" (despite the fact that they're completely different aha) but "BU2B" may become a new favourite of mine! I know right?! I'm actually working on a drawing of Neil (pretty much) at the moment, inspired by that photo. It's turning out.. okay. His amazing hands happen to be amazingly difficult to draw. ♥

But not with that annoying personality (I was a Trekker log before I was a SW fan) We'll just settle for Master, ok? Yes, his actual voice is quite nice. Velvety. Someone made a comment on a YT video of Neil talking about drums, "I could listen to him read the phone book." Agreed! There are a few audio bits on his website of him reading from his books - really lovely. I noticed in the picture that he's reading another of my favorite authors - Edgar Allen Poe. You are an artist? Oh, that's so out of my league! My daughter is quite good and, according to her, hands are about the most difficult thing to draw. Good luck

You are an artist? Oh, that's so out of my league! My daughter is quite good and, according to her, hands are about the most difficult thing to draw. Good luck First :: This is my 100th post. I dedicate it to Neil. |D But -- but there are lots of different Q with varying personalities. 8D; So no, not with that annoying personality, Q a la John de Lancie (but he is a great actor hee~). Okay, that works for me. Except it reminds me of that crazy dude from Doctor Who. Ooohh my gosh, I could listen to him read the phone book forEVER.. I have this thing for voices, I don't even know why, I just do. And I when hear someone's voice and I like it, I love it forever. And he's so eloquent with his speech. Am I an "artist"? More like a wannabe artist. But I try, and I'm taking an art course this year to try to improve at least a little before college when I'd have to pay for any classes. I only draw as a hobby, sometimes I'll do requests, but never for money. I need to practice up before I start taking commissions. And thanks for the encouragement -- the picture's turning out nicely (though I may redo it eventually anyways). I'll post it in the "Misc. Art" board when it's done. HowItIs
Part of the package of photos I bought. The guy bought a bunch of negatives/slides from a photographer in LA. I bought several (not just of the boys). Eee~ I like that first one! He has such a great smile. I'm well-aware that he's just so completely focused when he plays that he keeps such a straight face (he'd probably be a fabulous poker player) but it makes the shots where he's smiling so meaningful. And yes, I will indeed look at the guns on "that guy"... ...Except I'm starting to reconsider the word "guy". I'm thinking "that GOD" would be more appropriate. ;D

I think it would be very difficult to remove the print from it, though. Oh well, we can see most of his handsome face. And I can actually tell that his eyes are green! That poker face when he drums is something he has in common with Tony Banks (another musician I ). Comes from being focused concentrating on difficult playing, even though it's two different instruments. It's something I admire in both men.
