Nice! A friend of mine has one of those. You'd never know it was a cheapie by playing it.

Congratulations Mort! Nice looking bass.

Have you played bass before? Are you going to use a pick or your fingers ala Geddy? If you answer fingers, get ready for some blisters and calluses on both hands. It's worth it but your hands have to go through a breaking in process.

yes, i've played bass before, and i use my fingers. i feel my fingers get a bit sore after i've played for a while. its not like a guitar.

pos, i searched up a picture of a Samick Fairlane bass, looks sweet!

Here's what my Samick is like:

It's just that mine's a 4-string, not a 5, but otherwise mine looks pretty much the same.

Ahhh, a new bass! What a great way to meet your neighbors!!! Nowhere near as good as a new set of drums though. What about amplification, you do have something to rattle the paint off the walls don't you? confused13.gif

Really nice looking Jazz Mortkort. Looks very like one that Fender Japan were doing a year or two ago, that I really liked the look of.

Congratulations.

Nice, Mort! I like the inlaid fret markers and the Duncan pickups. Squier makes good affordable basses.

yeah, the maple fingerboard and the fretmarks where one of the reasons why i bought it. smile.gif

... and I'm sure you would have loved the bass to be black with the same neck wink.gif
