Jack Aubrey
QUOTE (Hypatia @ Jun 27 2005, 08:08 PM) QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Jun 26 2005, 06:20 AM) Come on Hypatia, its your turn Sorry, I'm having an I-don't-know-how attack -- I can't figure out how to get a movie still. A copy/paste into paint doesn't seem to work for me. Could someone else please have a go so that this thread keeps goin'? Right-click on the image you wish to copy. Scroll down to and click "properties". Copy the image URL. When you go to post here, click the "IMG" tag. Copy the text into the window, click "OK", and voila'. Strategy tip: it's always a good idea to make sure that the URL text does not contain the name of the movie from which the picture has been culled. A good way around that is to open a Photobucket account, copy the pics there and then copy them here Photobucket gives you the option of calling them whatever you want. Hypatia
Thanks for the advice, Jack, but I was trying to post an image from a movie I actually own. How would I do that?

Bastille Night
QUOTE (Hypatia @ Jun 27 2005, 09:04 PM) Thanks for the advice, Jack, but I was trying to post an image from a movie I actually own. How would I do that? That depends on the software that you use to view your DVDs. If you use WinDVD, you just have to push the "P" button and it will save a jpeg image of the scene that is on the screen. If you use Windows Media Player, you need to disable hardware acceleration before you take the screenshot. Open windows media player, click Tools-->Options-->Performance, then for "Video acceleration" slide the slider all the way to the left to disable it. Click ok to save the setting. Then to actually take the screen shot hold the Alt button and then hit the print screen button. Now you will be able to paste the image into your image editing software (like MS Paint). If you use Real Player, open Tools-->Preferences. Select 'hardware' from the category list on the left. Then under the 'video card compatibility' section slide the slider all the way to the left so it says 'disable optimized video and overlays'. Now you should be able to take screen shots from Real Player as described above. Other players probably have similar methods that you should be able to find with a Google search. Good luck! Jack Aubrey
In the meantime, and in accordance with game rules, I'm throwing the game open. The next person in here may post a pic. No offense or disrespect intended, Hypatia, but the game must keep moving.
