  1. Best adaptation in that the movie version was orders of magnitude better than the book: Jurassic Park.
  2. QUOTE (Sark @ Jul 29 2005, 12:08 PM) I was a Babylon 5 type of fan myself. I just can't seem to get into the new Galactica. I guess I'm biased from watching the old series as a kid, even though watching it now it's pretty cheesy. Yup, I am quite fond of B5 myself. BG is one of the very few sf shows that comes up to the B5 standard, IMO. I never saw more than a clip or two of the original BG series, so I guess it's easier for me to get into the new one without preconceived notions.
  3. WooHoo -- it's Friday and a new BG episode!!
  4. Season2, Episode2: OMGs -- has tv ever been this good before?!? I don't remember ever being this enthralled by a show before.
  5. QUOTE (D-13 @ Jun 23 2005, 10:14 AM)LOTR-Return of the King---> When Aragorn and company are circled by the enemy of the black gates...and that last moment before they charge he turns around and looks at Gandalf and says..."For Frodo"...turns around with his cape flying in the wind and charges towards enemy.... What gets me even more about this scene is that Merry and Pippin immediately race after him and for a half second its just the three of them racing down to take on the Dark Lord. Here's a favorite of mine to add that I just saw this morning: Aliens -- "Get away from her you bitch"
  6. Thanks for the advice, Jack, but I was trying to post an image from a movie I actually own. How would I do that?
  7. QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Jun 26 2005, 06:20 AM) Come on Hypatia, its your turn Sorry, I'm having an I-don't-know-how attack -- I can't figure out how to get a movie still. A copy/paste into paint doesn't seem to work for me. Could someone else please have a go so that this thread keeps goin'?
  8. QUOTE (pedro2112 @ Jun 25 2005, 06:43 AM) QUOTE (Hypatia @ Jun 25 2005, 07:18 AM) I'll go out on a limb ( ) and guess that's Ricardo Montalban from Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. Actually, it is Christopher Lee. As to what movie it is from, I have no clue. Arg -- it looks so familar! I'll guess again with <shudder> The Wicker Man.
  9. I'll go out on a limb ( ) and guess that's Ricardo Montalban from Conquest of the Planet of the Apes.
  10. Lots of good ones already mentioned, but I'd add Noises Off (yes, I know it's based on a play), Hitchcock's The Trouble with Harry and, though it may not qualify as pure comedy, the cult movie Harold and Maude despite the Cat Stevens soundtrack.
  11. QUOTE (anagramking @ Jun 17 2005, 11:33 PM) Can't forget Beavis and Butthead Do America. Oh yes I can!
  12. QUOTE (Batman @ Jun 15 2005, 05:47 AM) the First three Pink Panther movies
  13. Just got back from seeing it -- excellent film! Gritty, dark, well acted. I have a couple of gripes, most notably the stupid apparently obligatory car chase scene, but overall I was very, very pleased. Now that they have Batman down they should move on and do Grendel.
  14. QUOTE (Batman @ Jun 18 2005, 09:59 AM) looks like a neat show. Too bad it on in the middle of the day during the week. Rent the dvd! I have a tough time remembering to catch it when it airs, so I just resign myself to waiting until the dvds come out. Episodes 1-12 are available now.
