Music isn't about talent today. It's all about looks. As long as you have the right look & know a few chords, that's all you need today. Most songs today play the same beat & key from beginning to end. In top 40 anyway.

True.

All you need today is to wear black, have black hair, and put a crap load of makeup on. even if your a guy.

And all drummers have to do is play a crap load of double-pedal, so it sounds like you can play.

Other:

Crappy little bands who just complain and get contracts

Or rappers who just rap about the same thing and it all sounds the same.

The lack of quality in music now adays overall.

Based to much on looks now, not talent

Which is not how it should be.

How about disposable pop stars? Britney and Christina have made it possible for people like Ashlee Simpson, Hilary Duff, pretty much every teeniebop or hip hop artist to come through and have one big hit, and then fade away into obscurity. Wasnt there a time when artists had a bit of consistancy in thier music? Then again, that was probably also a time when the bands in the top 40 were actually writing thier own music and not having thier record label hand them down an overproduced track hit.
