2112-Rob-2112 Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 I want to see this...I havent seen the original yet either...has anyone seen the original/ or the new one. How were they.
2112-Rob-2112 Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 I just finished the new one..and uhh...It wasnt that good...It got better when it started getting into it but In the end it was just another money maker movie..that also was a huge ripoff of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I would give it a 4 out of 10...Some parts were pretty cool but all in all yea it was not that great...it wasnt HORRIBLE..but not that great...Im going to watch the old one soon and ill let you know how that one was.
Templar of Syrinx Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Saw the original at the drive-in when i was a kid .....but don't remember much about the movie......
Raider917 Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 i just saw the original. it wasnt that good to me. it seemed more like a b-movie. it suprises me that there is a remake. it must have a cult following. i never heard of the original though before the new version came out.

Mr. Not Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 The (1997) and the (2006) were both shocking and great for their times! Potential Spoilers in CODE: I personally like the remake better, actually. A sort of sympathy for the protagonists is had that is hard to accomplish for many horror films. The movie is literally and figuratively gutsy! There is nothing but hopelessness to be felt the entire time, and the writers made some ballsy decisions targeting a dog and a baby. Yikes! Then ending... Is awesome. It's logical - this traveling family was screwed from the start. I am watching the 2006 film again, no doubt. I may also see the horribly rated 2007 "Hills Have Eyes 2"
mazyyz Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 I saw the remake and it was horrible Don't waste your time
Enemy Within 77 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 The original is just ok, kinda boring. The remake is pretty close to the originals story- I might like it a little better, and I'm usually against all these remakes of classics!
Your_Lion Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 You can say what you want about the original, but Michael Berryman is THE MAN!!! I've been a huge fan of the guy ever since I first saw Weird Science as a kid.

Mr. Not Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 I'd assume people dislike these films for the lack of redeeming values. No satisfaction for the good guys, no happy endings.

Babycat Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 I've never seen either of them, even though I had heard of the original.

Presto-digitation Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 QUOTE (2112-Rob-2112 @ Mar 15 2006, 11:39 PM) I want to see this...I havent seen the original yet either...has anyone seen the original/ or the new one. How were they. I saw the original at the drive-in when it was released. Scared the bejeezus out of me, but I was 8 then too. Decent film still. Good (not great) 70s horror. Haven't seen the remake, but those kinds of things don't have good track records....
