slambozzio
I still maintain the solo from ESL is the best. Neil had the power and the passion back then, probably because he was a lot younger Not that the newer solos are bad, i just think hearing him really lean into the tom fills back then was awesome
Huck
YYZ on ESL for me too
Dbl-Strk
Exit Stage Left hands down!!!!!! It`s the, "Tightest" solo he`s ever done...in my opinion. Also the fact that I `ve never seen him play that one live helps too!! Ya`ll take care
YYZ Working Man
yyz in esl is my all time favorite but O'B is the best put together Anatomy of a drum solo really breaks it down
Room 34
Had to go with "O Baterista." The solos in "Different Stages" and "R30" both have moments that sound to me like (*gasp* can it be?) mistakes. I know even "The Professor" is human and doesn't play perfectly, and I'd rather have him loose and occasionally flawed rather than overdubbed into perfection as on ESL. But I think "O Baterista" manages to capture that "real" feeling but also caught Neil on a night where he was in fine form.
drummerboy
I'm going to have to go with O Baterista.
Retrospective
Dumb question.. what about Der Trommler from R30? I picked Rhythm Method from DS. Second was O'Baterista. Edited December 24, 2006 by Maddi

deadwing2112
I really like his older solos better since he doesn't start and stop as much. So probably a toss up between ATWAS and ESL solo.
xx2112xx
O'Baterista. I love the way he explodes into the solo after Leave That Thing Alone.

yyz311
I went with the 2nd Rhythm Method, although Modern Drummer had the All The World's a Stage solo in it's top 10 (or something like that).
slamthejam11
Well my favorite Officially released drum solo is from ESL. However, my favorite bootleg drum solo is definitly from the Presto tour. When I first saw it, I was absolutely blown away.
The Owl
I think the one From S&A live might bumb O'Batrista off the top for me
coder_
I thought the one from this tour with all the weird electronics was really cool, but on the list, I voted for YYZ's solo.
ArrowSnake
QUOTE (coder_ @ Sep 7 2007, 04:47 AM) I thought the one from this tour with all the weird electronics was really cool, but on the list, I voted for YYZ's solo. bringer of balance
I want to choose the drumsolo from the snakes and arrows tour because this one sound very good and the jazz-end is awsome... butt it's not in the list yet so I have to go with the rhythm method from different stages!!! Deadwing
Other than the double handed cross-overs he implemented later on, the solo on Exit...Stage Left is definitely his most exciting to this day in my opinion. It has far more energy. And I think it's definitely still the most challenging to play. He's all flying all over that kit and doing it way faster than any solo he did later on. And the cowbell parts. Classic. That solo is what made me want to learn to play drums as a kid, so I guess I am a bit biased, but still. It's amazing.
