  1. La Villa,Followed very, very closely by YYZ. The three on Snakes and Arrows are also rather splendid.
  2. Vapor Trails-for the sheer will and endurance of the human mind and soul it represents. Not to mention the great songs.
  3. Good News First-perfect.So is the rest. This one is just that much ''perfecter''. Also Main Monkey Business. It's hard making something like that sound so ''easy''.
  4. Summertime Blues-nice mix of the Blue Cheer and the Who's versions. The whole ep is fun, tho, you can sense the kick they get out of playing these ol' chestnuts.
  5. Vapor Trail-but I absolutely love the album as a whole.Everything about it. Songs,lyrics,the sound(YES!It's like that for a reason,people)and the no-solo-policy:a mature,selfless and well thought-out move.
  6. Totem-lately,one of my all-time,fave Rushes.Maybe the Viking references?I also like Immigrant Song and Kings & Queens by Aerosmith.Coincidental?
  7. Roll the Bones-the great, uplifting message about life and mortality, the chorus(one of their best, imo, the main part is pretty average)AND the rap, which caused a lot of you guys to hyperventilate, just admit it
  8. The Pass-and this is the other one.Great to have the guitar back(to some extent, but what a flatliner, soundwise)
  9. Time Stands Still-for the message, melody and Aimee's wonderful vocal. This is one of only two Rush-albums where I don't care much for the sound and arrangments.
  10. Manhattan Project-the lyrics. (Big Money is maybe a cooler song when it comes to melody)
  11. Between the Wheels-for the emotion and darkness.Love the lyrics on the album.
  12. Vital Signs-completely slaughters the Police on their own game.Is a billion times better, tho. But again, the whole album is spectacular. The rest of the album ties for second place, this song is just that bit more special for me.
  13. La Villa Strangiato-it always brings a smile to my face, freaky little brainmelter that it is. First heard it after a bit too much of the old wacky-backy.Made sense then, makes sense now.
  14. Closer to the Heart-a gigantic leap forward,songwriting-wise. Not that I don't love the old,epic,sword'n'sorcery-stuff,this just gives me more, emotionally. That great intro, combined with the lyrics and Geddy's first, really great singing on tape. The drums and guitar is also rather nifty.
  15. The Twilight Zone-great riffs, also that creepy, lovely ''quiet'' part a.k.a. the chorus. If I had to pick ONE that is,the whole caboodle is greater than great.
  16. Bastille Day,not too fond of the epics here, for some reason(my least fave Rush-album?)
  17. Here Again, agree on the solo, but the whole song is beautiful. Working Man is also great, but a bit of an ''obvious'' choice.
