Honestly adore it.

Also amazed that the debut doesn't get much love. Really love that!

Also 80's Rush is amazing. Definitely not that huge on the seventies.

Honestly i can't Stand ged's 70's voice at this point.

Kansas had it all over Rush in that Decade as far as i'm concerned.

80's.....whole new ballgame, lol

Mick

Yeah...agreed...

Seventies Ged is a terrible vocalist. Sorry but...yeah. Kills Hemispheres for me.

The playing is what keeps hemispherses so up there for me.

but yea i don't have anyone can defend 70's ged. you may say it's subjective. it's bad singing.

so is dylan and Waits but they wrote for their limitations.

70's rush needed a good singing voice. didn't get it.

love him in the 80's though.

Mick

Totally different band in the eighties.

Seriously loving GUP, PoW, HYF and RTB atm.

BTW it's great to see live album that's going to be a true testament to how the band sounds nowadays. These guys may be in their late 50s and 60s, but since getting Ronnie and David Manion, they play like they're in their 20s now.

Hell, these guys just played a surprise gig at Comic Con to thousands of screaming, young Supernatural fans! If that's not an example of a successful comeback, I don't know what is.

You cant deny that by performing at Comic Con, they proved that their music can still strike a major chord with the younger demographic of people.

Then why were the kids not at a Kansas concert instead of being at an event that just so happened to have Kansas guest?

right on. we all hit certain parts of our lives where a band/artist appears. and for some reason they're perfect for that chunk of time.

2012/to mid 2013 was my "rush era" i still and will always appreciate them. but i guess the stars aligned for just that time.

not sad......just life. i attribute it to maturity. i am NOT saying rush is for the immature. just i matured and they happened to not fit my tastes as much.

Same. But I can still return to Rush and find much to enjoy. They have a unique richness that I find alluring. But being me...I tend to prefer the albums others don't.

I get more from Roll The Bones, Hold Your Fire and Power Windows than I ever have Hemispheres or 2112.

I think there's a lot to be said for being a fan from the beginning as well. If you're newer to them they won't have been as much of your life. I love a lot of other bands as well and even if I don't listen to them for a while doesn't mean that they're still not my favorite band of all time.

4. Kansas

5. Monolith

6. Point of Know Return

7. The Prelude Implicit

8. Power

9. Audio Visions

10. Drastic Measures

11. In the Spirit of Things

12. Vinyl Confessions

then the last 3 are all equal crap to me.

Mick

I love Masque. Like. A lot.

Really underrated. but it's my fav.

Mick

YES I LOVE THE FIRST SONG!

Mick

You guys need to turn in your Rush fan cards.

Easy to do lol

That's sad.

I don't find it sad at all. What Rush means to you, other bands mean to me.

Paradise Lost, Lacuna Coil and Nightwish are those bands.

I think there's a lot to be said for being a fan from the beginning as well. If you're newer to them they won't have been as much of your life. I love a lot of other bands as well and even if I don't listen to them for a while doesn't mean that they're still not my favorite band of all time.

I have not been a fan of any of my favourite bands since their beginning, so not really convinced this point is valid lol

But yeah, I love Rush. They opened a lot of doors for me musically, and I especially am grateful to them gor helping me discover prog and many rather obscure bands of that era.

But overall, as much as Rush mean the world to me, and yes they mean so much to me, in my heart the music lacks a certain something that elevates them to top status.

Well the opinion is valid to me and I have heard so many other people say the same thing. The only thing I can think to compare it to would be being married to someone for 40 years. Someone who's only been married two or three years isn't able to comprehend exactly what it's like to be married for 40 years and experience all of that life and history with someone unless they've experienced it themselves. They might think they do but they won't be able to really feel it in their soul.
