Rod in Toronto
Since all we do these days is creating polls, here´s another one for ya. Symphony X has become one of my favourite bands in recent years - I went through their whole catalogue slowly, and there´s A LOT to digest. To me, their best albums are V - The New Mythology Suite and The Divine Wings Of Tragedy, but most of them are solid efforts and there´s a lot to like on them. Segue Myles
I bought one of their albums once thinking it was a Paradise Lost album. It wasn't. Not sure I still have it but...I might play it if I find it. I like this band anyway.

And every so often you venture out into the sunlight but not for long and only with heavy sunglasses and a scarf over your whole face and a blonde wig to reflect the sun's rays.

Cyclonus X-1
The debut is my favorite, but The Damnation Game, Underworld, and Twilight in Olympus are right up there. I like all of their albums, though Paradise Lost is definitely my least favorite.

Love the old stuff as well but that one really was a good mix I almost voted for Underworld - they found a perfect balance between the "classic" side of Symphony X and the heavier side of the recent albums. Run With the Devil is awesome!!!

Cyclonus X-1
Here´s a song off The Odyssey I really like: Terrified - to the left and to the right King of Terrors is a great song. My favorite track on that album is Awakenings. The debut is my favorite, but The Damnation Game, Underworld, and Twilight in Olympus are right up there. I like all of their albums, though Paradise Lost is definitely my least favorite. Paradise Lost has at least two great songs - Set The World on Fire and Domination. I think it has a number of quality songs, and two of my favorites are the softer ones, The Sacrifice and the title track. I almost voted for Underworld - they found a perfect balance between the "classic" side of Symphony X and the heavier side of the recent albums. Run With the Devil is awesome!!! I think that in a way it's a return to what they were doing on the first couple of albums. During the Divine/Twilight/V era, there was a focus on progressiveness with epics and suites. And during the Odyssey/Paradise/Iconoclast era, they largely concentrated on being heavy. But with the first two albums and Underworld, they melded heaviness and progressive elements while primarily focusing on melody. The Divine Wings Of Tragedy. The title track is epic!!! It´s hard for me to pick a favourite off this album, but I´ll go with Of Sins and Shadows. Pharaoh has always been my favorite from Divine. Rod in Toronto
By the way, I met Russel Allen once, and he was quite the opposite of the usual self-important/arrogant rock star: http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k210/RodrigoAltaf/russel2_zps482c83f2.jpg
