I love the Sundown album. Just brilliant.

They blew it. And why do I feel like they’re burying Finn. He was barely in the last one. And he’s the only interesting character. He’s the one with the interesting back story. Wouldn’t it make sense if he was searching for HIS family? I would’ve made Rey a minor character if it was up to me. Harrison Ford would’ve been the perfect lynchpin for the new trilogy. Killing off him and Luke was nonsensical. The Avengers is much more interesting - the characters have chemistry for one. And there’s plenty of politically correct silliness in those movies, but it doesn’t weigh anything down. First thing I noticed about the trailer is how over the top Ridley’s facial expressions are - just awful over acting. The Last Jedi was so disastrous they are trotting our every conceivable character from the past films to keep everyone on the hook. JJ can’t create an engaging original work. The SW universe is so rich with storylines and interesting characters and yet they can’t let go - gotta dangle Palpatine now that we’ve killed everyone. Just awful and sad.

I think it’s awesome - tour til you can’t. Big surprise that a writer for “Louder” doesn’t understand the main drive for a musician. Talking drugs for one second: Dope was heaved upon bands to keep them happy, but to also keep them tied to their management, and their labels. These are young dudes, many uneducated with zero future prospects, so no wonder these older creeps heaped drugs and pussy on them. They were investments, especially the singers or star guitar players. They were kids to be manipulated in many many cases. Rush were smart but they also lucked out meeting Cliff Bernstein and they took a very pragmatic approach to the JOB of being musos. As I get older I have diminishing doubt that many of these musicians were murdered by way of “accidental” OD or drunk driving accidents. More press, and less people to pay. I think many music business people fail to understand artists and that scares them. If you were a manager, would you even stand for someone plying your singer with heroin? Of course not, unless you’re a complete gutter-sucking scum bag.

That’d be Donna Halper - who actually made some sort of impact on the band’s success. What bands does Trunk champion that are unknown or unsuccessful?

I completely disagree. This show was incredible, and the only sub par season was the last one. Far too rushed. Yup me too. I’ll say that the wheels fell off. Hope the last season recovers but I doubt it will. But isn't the wheels falling the whole point now that the end is near? There's not supposed to be a diplomatic conclusion. I guess I mean in terms of production- last season seemed very rushed -characters were traveling great distances in very short periods - the epic scope felt diminished - the whole white dragon thing was pretty predictable too. I love the show but the quality slipped.

Sure it might be annoying -kinda - but Portnoy quit the band. And he also maintained that he and DT were on good terms (as far as I know). I like the new DT - and the Mangini version has inspired me to listen more to earlier DT material. Wouldn’t have happened otherwise.
