  1. He has a great understanding of chords and knows how to fill space with the right notes so that when there are only two notes being played between he and Geddy, it sounds much bigger. His knowledge of moving partial chords in a melodic fashion is stellar and sometimes complicated and sometimes perfectly simple. Afterimage and Free Will come to mind.
  2. They're all good for driving. Probably PeW and Hemispheres for me. Or a live show from 81 or 82-3
  3. Not at all.

My favorite live Rush album. I love to put it on and look at the pictures in the tri fold. Pre MTV/live video this was the best. I was 5 when this show took place. Didn't see them until almost ten years later.
  5. Just listened to my original copy of FBN on vinyl. It's minty so I dont think I will replace it.
  6. Contemplating my navel which is getting further out in front of me each year
  7. Ooo me too. When I was first learning to play bass he was one of my major influences. He was the reason I wanted a Fender Precision
  8. I saw this tour and they played 6 songs. I wouldn't mind hearing any of them but Prime Mover would be my first choice. Also, since HYF came out I have been hoping for Open Secrets live.
  9. Permanent waves tour came through my town...I was 9... It's between that one and Hemispheres. Nadars would be great too....too many great tours
  10. Thanks. I was wondering since I first saw that.
  11. I think it was the lack of depth and dirt. MP is so good sounding because of the dirt on the bass. It gives it some growl. I think you make a good point that it can be too clean.
  12. AFTK through MP were all really well produced. Presto probably the clearest of the lot. Especially Hand Over Fist
  13. If you think about things starting with 1, the capstone of the 70s should be 1980. 71 to 80 were the 70s so I would call it a 70s album.
  14. Joan Jett put on a hell of a show back in the 80s.
  15. Melissa Etheridge was fantastic both times I saw her back in the early 90s
  16. Well that's exactly how they act. GOD f***ing FORBID my opinion differs from theirs. I was going to keep my mouth shut but equating people who complain about aging rock stars with people who perpetrated the most inhuman act of the 20th century is ridiculous. I echo what Narp said.
  17. This is a great album. I don't even mind The Speed of Love. While being the only song worthy of the skip button, it would be one of the best tunes on their previous effort following Bravado and Dreamline.
