  1. QUOTE (ZivotSon @ Sep 20 2010, 05:52 PM) At some point, it's overkill. The way I see it, they could release a DVD of every show. I wouldn't buy them all, mind you; there's nothing compelling me or anyone else to buy everything they put out. If you are satisfied with what you already have, there's nothing forcing you to buy any additional releases. I wouldn't tell them to stop, though. It's their choice what they release as a band/money-making entity, and it's my choice as a consumer what I want.
  2. QUOTE (tick @ Sep 13 2010, 02:20 PM) No more Fudgy!!! Please tell me Cookie Puss still exists? http://www.carvel.com/products/signature.htm They both still exist.
  3. QUOTE (Don Quixote @ Sep 3 2010, 12:04 PM) I don't think he even used it on the Hemispheres tour for the title track - could you imagine playing that thing for nearly 20 minutes straight? Yikes. He did later on, though. Also, you're right that he didn't play it (on the CP tour, at least) for 20 mins, but he also used it on Xanadu. At 6:44 and 4:16 respectively, he played it for 11 mins each night of that tour. I'm not trying to prove you wrong or anything; just noting that he has used it for the title track and had it on for at least 11 mins on tour back in 94.

  5. QUOTE (kbomb106 @ Aug 31 2010, 05:17 PM) How much are you looking for? Sorry if my question didn't seem serious enough. I'll ask again. [seriously]How much do you want for them?[/seriously]
  6. That awkward fill is something he's done for a long time. I'm looking for an example on YouTube for demonstration, but am having a problem finding it. It happens at the same spot all the time, and the first time I heard it, I thought Neil screwed up, but I heard it on multiple bootlegs.
  7. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Sep 1 2010, 04:14 PM) For me Presto was the defining moment where "for the most part" they had already reached their peak. It's impossible to make it into a hard and fast rule as they have released some good material post-HYF, but the consistency for me was mostly gone and never really returned. So that's one vote for "Jumped the shark at Presto." That's fine and you are entitled to your opinion, as is everyone else on the board. My point is simply that I think most people are saying "I hated HYF, but they put out some good stuff after it." That's fine, too, but just not jumping the shark. I, personally, didn't care for VT much at all, but I wouldn't call it a shark jumping event. In fact, I liked S&A much better, so that's a vote for not jumping the shark.
  8. I'm confused by the wording of this. Did Rush ever jump the shark? You never unjump a shark. The person who coined the phrase said "It's a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite television program has reached its peak. That instant that you know from now on...it's all downhill." (Per the wiki link provided.) To say that Rush has jumped the shark means that you think one album was their last good one and everything since it has been worse. That might be what you're saying, but the inclusion of the word "ever" - and some of the responses here - make me think the question meant was "Has Rush ever put out anything that you didn't like for some reason?"
  9. QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Aug 25 2010, 12:04 PM) Oh and if for any reason this DOES get cancelled, I know who to blame! Chris Langone?

QUOTE (RushNut @ Aug 23 2010, 10:04 AM) I am Mark Zahn...bow before me! http://blog.tmcnet.com/blog/tom-keating/images/general-zod-kneel.jpg Kneel before Zahn!
  11. QUOTE (Brizel @ Aug 10 2010, 07:47 PM) Enter at your own risk. End of discussion. Avoid the entire site? That's a pic of the main page, not the subforum. If your suggestion is that everyone who doesn't want to know anything avoid TRF altogether, then I'm sorry you're so insensitive. Seriously? Your suggestion is that everyone who doesn't want to know about their upcoming show avoid the site altogether because you can't be bothered to name a thread something without spoilers (and I know you're not the OP here - this is a general you)? A little compassion goes a long way. A minimum of effort on your part could prevent people from being spoiled, but that's too much effort? Really...how hard is it to name it something like "Outro video" and then put spoilers inside? Not very. Have a heart; help your fellow Rush bros out.
  12. QUOTE (Brizel @ Aug 10 2010, 07:11 PM)Read the damn sub forum your going into man. Dont get mad at the guy who made the thread discussing the TIME MACHINE TOUR in the TIME MACHINE TOUR sub forum and come in here and bitch at him for it. It's visible from the main page. Without going into the subforum, you can see the complete title. Is it really that hard to name your thread something innocuous and put the spoilers inside? Really? http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk96/kbomb106/untitled.jpg
  13. QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Aug 10 2010, 03:01 PM)and this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/lakesidemaiden/Rush%20at%20Mohegan%20Sun%207-19-2010/IMG_6617.jpg I opted against including the one from this tour. It didn't turn out as well. But now that I'm talking about it, I guess I might as well. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk96/kbomb106/Rush%207%2019%2010/DSCF0245.jpg
  14. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Aug 10 2010, 11:25 AM)Fireworks? Really? Has Rush ever done fireworks at their shows? Not fireworks like this: http://today24news.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/fireworks.jpg Fireworks like this: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk96/kbomb106/Rush%207%2011%2008/Picture180.jpg

  17. QUOTE (BL2112 @ Jul 29 2010, 05:48 PM) Maybe this is a way for them to "implant" a new song in our heads? Putting a song in our heads by playing it? Crafty bastards!
  18. QUOTE (kbomb106 @ Jul 22 2010, 11:04 PM) Gee....let me guess which 2. *Checks recent posts* Yep. Those are the 2 I figured.
  19. QUOTE (Rush Cocky @ Jul 22 2010, 10:06 PM) TWO trolls got banned today after extensive warnings. A banner day in TRF history to be sure. The mods have a case of Just For Men on back order. Gee....let me guess which 2.
  20. To be fair, you do have to go through this forum to get to the Hot Tubs. If you want to know anything about meetups, etc, you do have to click. The only way to avoid thread titles is to unfocus your eyes or cover your screen. That said, if titles contain no spoilers, you're good unless you click one of the threads. That would just be silly, though. I have nothing but compassion for those who don't want to be spoiled, but clicking on a thread in this forum - before seeing a show - doesn't make any sense.
  21. QUOTE (tick @ Jul 20 2010, 09:23 PM) If a woman dresses like a slut, guys will treat her like a slut. "The girl says, 'Wait a minute! Just because I'm dressed this way does not make me a whore!' Which is true. Gentlemen, that is true. Just because they dress a certain way doesn't mean they are a certain way. Don't ever forget it. But ladies, you must understand that is f***ing CONFUSING! It just is. Now that would be like me, Dave Chappelle the comedian, walking down the street in a cop uniform. Somebody might run up on me, saying, 'Oh, thank God. Officer, help us! Come on. They're over here. Help us!' 'OH-H0H!!! Just because I'm DRESSED this way does not make me a police officer!' All right, ladies, fine. You are not a whore. But you are wearing a whore's uniform." For the whole story, check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGQilYAloIA&feature=related from about 0:45 on.
  22. QUOTE (tick @ Jul 20 2010, 07:16 PM)In all due respect, if you start a dopey thread like this one stating you were so hammered you don't remember a thing about the first show, and when you were sober you know why, because the show sucked, your asking people to rip you to shreds. He could have stated his opinion with tact, but was going for shock value and looking to ruffle feathers, so, mission accomplished. I'm fairly sure the response he got is exactly what he wanted. If he left out the part about being so hammered he doesn't remember the first show he wouldn't have been hammered. I mean seriously, what does it matter what they played if your so incoherent you don't remember a thing? He will never even know if first show was any good, because he wasn't even there. Like I said, dude, he could have phrased it better. He could have done several things to make fans less standoffish. Nevertheless, he's still entitled to his opinion. In short, you're both right; he can hate the first setlist, and you can hate how he framed it. That's the beauty of individuality. I'm not defending his particular opinion; I'm merely defending the ability to have an opinion and not be castigated for it.
  23. While I disagree with the OP, I would like to point out that everyone is entitled to an opinion, and I'd think that the Rush community at large would be one that would accept differences of opinion. No, you don't have to agree with him, and possibly starting a post with "I was kinda drunk, but..." is not the best way to bolster credibility. That said, everyone is free to like or dislike any songs or setlists they choose, and I'm kinda surprised by the general reaction here. I liked the setlist, but don't think that makes the OP stupid or wrong....just in disagreement with me. I don't see the need to attack him for it.
