  1. QUOTE (Tommy Sawyer @ Sep 11 2012, 08:35 AM) We've already seen it live, no need for it again. I'm pretty sure you just discounted like 95% of the tour there.
  2. Playing with other people is technically playing with yourself? Hmm....
  3. QUOTE (Slack jaw gaze @ Jun 10 2012, 07:28 PM) Who doesn't like acute angle? That's such an obtuse viewpoint. Stop being so oblique! Do you see what I did there?
  4. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Jun 8 2012, 01:53 PM) You know, I really don't understand the thought patterns of some fans sometimes. Its a concept album. Not playing the entire work live on tour is like: Pink Floyd not performing The Wall Live! Queensryche not performing Operation Mindcrime Live! Fates Warning not performing A Pleasant Shade of Grey Live! Dream Theater not performing Scenes from a Memory Live! Is that really what we want? For Rush to retire and never have a representation of one of their finest works Live in its Entirety? Really? Clockwork Angels is Epic! Wake up and smell the Angels that have fallen out of Heaven and landed on your face! I see what you're saying, but by the same reasoning, shouldn't it be unthinkable to not play 2112 (song, not album) in its entirety? It's a conceptual piece, and it wold follow that it should never be truncated. Despite that, it's only been played in full on the TFE tour - 1 time in 36 years. I'm just noting that sometimes bands don't do the full concept pieces live.
  5. I hope they don't play the whole album. It's not that I don't like it; quite the opposite, but I prefer a little variety. All the songs from S&A that they played got a bit taxing. I'm liking the new album a lot, but I'd still prefer to hear a bit of this and bit of that. I'm still (foolishly) holding out for a mostly B-sides tour. I know it won't happen, but I can dream.
  6. QUOTE (Xanaseb @ Jun 3 2012, 03:39 PM)QUOTE (Analog_Bro @ Jun 3 2012, 02:15 PM) Just as exited as I was before, I really love what I have heard so far Grammar Nazi time! 'excited' not 'exited' Wouldn't that make you more of a spelling Nazi? What you pointed out is really not much of a grammatical mistake - just a spelling mistake. The sentence is grammatically incorrect; it should have had a semicolon instead of a comma, but you didn't point that part out. Since we're on the topic of grammatical correctness, your correction should also have read, "'Excited,' not 'exited.'"
  7. QUOTE (beherit @ May 28 2012, 11:05 PM) Yes, let's wear Rush t-shirts at a Rush concert, like everyone else does at a Rush concert.
  8. Well, if being a Rush fan alone didn't get you laid, wearing these surely will.
  9. QUOTE (ioc @ May 24 2012, 11:08 AM) <"IT SUCKS THAT PEOPLE CAN BE SO MEAN SOMETIMES!" I knew Loud Howard was a Rush fan.
  10. To give a little perspective: 15th row: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk96/kbomb106/Rush%207%2011%2008/Picture180.jpg 10th row: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk96/kbomb106/Rush%207%2019%2010/DSCF0127.jpg 1st row: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk96/kbomb106/Rush%206%2015%2008/IMG_0218.jpg If you're anywhere on the floor, it's usually pretty good. This is 2nd section back. I'm sorry; I forget the row, but 20 something, most likely: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk96/kbomb106/Rush%209-14-10/DSCF0761.jpg I don't think I used the zoom with any of these pics, but I may have.
  11. QUOTE (kid-gloves @ May 9 2012, 12:51 PM) The policy that you agree to when you buy tickets through the MT presale clearly states that any resale "for a price in excess of the original purchase price is not permitted." It is a public sale, and the tickets are your property, but you abide by conditions when you buy them. Selling them for profit on a resale site violates those conditions. I hope somebody tells StubHub about this rule, then.
  12. If I have extra tickets, I always offer them here at face value (plus Ticketbastard fees) - exactly what I paid for them. Tickets should always be offered to other fans for no profit first. Last tour, I had an extra, but nobody here wanted it. I wound up selling on StubHub (I think - don't really recall) for what I paid plus whatever percentage they take, just so I can break even. That's just my opinion. And in most states, reselling tickets is perfectly legal, so long as it isn't a certain percentage over face value. It gets murkier when selling across state lines.

    Tears

I'm probably not answering the exact question asked, but it's related. It turned out to be the only good thing about Red Star. Definitely one of my favorite Rush covers.
  14. This poor girl from the S&A tour. She was obviously dragged to the show by (I'm assuming) her mother, who was rocking out. This poor girl was just so bored. As a parent, don't drag a kid who isn't interested. This will be the result. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk96/kbomb106/Rush%207%2011%2008/th_Picture028.jpg
  15. It's quite possible. I got 9th row for Boston this tour. I got 3rd row all the way on the side (which turned out to be front row, as it was a rounded arena) for S&A. It can happen; it requires patience and the willingness to chance throwing something that's not too bad back into the mix....or being willing to buy better seats if you find something better.
  16. For those of you who love Rush and like Buzztime trivia, tonight might possibly be your night. Rush is one of the potential categories for music trivia tonight. http://www.buzztime.com/playback Granted, it only comes out to a 33% chance that they will be the category, but I thought some of you hopefuls might join me tonight playing this round. To be fair, I should mention that the selected band really only gets 2 rounds at the end of the game, but wouldn't it be exciting to see questions you know the answers to about your favorite band? It starts in just under 1 hour on the east coast; check the schedule for a location near you and your local times, if you're interested. If you play and you see "kbomb" on the high score board after the game, that's me. (If the category turns out to be either Styx or Toto, I have NO chance whatsoever, so I'm hopeful.)
  17. I second La Villa, but I'd say go with this version:
  18. QUOTE (grand phil-nale @ Mar 3 2012, 09:44 PM) Buy the R30 Blu Ray. It has the 8 songs that were left off the DVD. Agreed. You can't go wrong with a full setlist. That said, with the Blu Ray, you get only the show with no extras. The only way (unfortunately) to get the whole setlist AND extras is to get both the Deluxe DVD and BD.
  19. If you don't need the exact studio track, you could always get the Guitar Pro version and put drums on solo. If you need the specific studio track, sorry. I got nothing.
  20. One of the pictures in a bootleg I have suggests that this wouldn't happen. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk96/kbomb106/sign_of_eth_inner_front.jpg
  21. Here's the Red Star cover I was talking about. Comparatively, this is pure crap. Upon hearing Red Star, my coworker actually asked, "Is this a tribute album or a spite album?"
  22. Well, it beats the hell out of the version on Red Star! It's ok. The vocals....well, not my cup of tea. Instrumentally, though, it's not bad.
  23. QUOTE (drbirdsong @ Jan 30 2012, 07:43 PM) http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z437/drbirdsong/photo_5.jpg That's a CD? Kinda looks like a ransom note.
