  1. I bought some shares into a UK construction company. Currently their share price is almost rock bottom, but am convinced it will start to rise once the recession finally turns into growth. Historically the construction sector often climbs out of the abyss before most other sectors. Here's hoping
  2. 22nd May 2011. LG Arena, Birmingham, England
  3. Not their best album: in fact I can only recall one or two of their songs, one of them is "Animate" and that wonderful drum intro by The Prof. Still stands the test of time (the song, rather than the album)
  4. Lyrically I still adore "Losing It", and the electronic violin was like the icing on the cake. Having said that, I do have quite an affinity for "Subdvisions", there is something very "1984" about the tone & mood of the song, to me at least.
  5. The price of a pint of beer has gone up again! I am really happy about this
  6. I'm so happy that Christmas is another month nearer!
  7. I particularly loathe the current Halifax Building Society TV commercial airing here in the UK, where you have two members of the Halifax staff dressed up as radio DJs and playing cover versions like "Ice Ice Baby" but changing the name to "ISA ISA Baby". They try to look cool, hip & trendy, but in reality they look like two totally uncool Halifax staff dressed up as radio DJs. And what's worse the commercial is being played to death, which only makes me want to throw the tv out the window even more. Banks & Building Societies should give up on the notion that trying to be hip, groovy and "in the zone" with the public just doesn't work rant over
  8. QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Aug 17 2010, 12:06 PM) QUOTE (Fridge @ Aug 17 2010, 11:49 AM) QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Aug 17 2010, 12:42 PM) QUOTE (different strings @ Aug 17 2010, 08:18 AM) If I am not mistaken, the tour in the summer of 2011 will probably be called the CLOCKWORK ANGELS Tour after the release of the new album. They will do North America and parts of Canada again then they will hit Europe but alas, they will probably miss Australa altogether once again. DS, you gotta hit the UK next year!!! That would be off the wall. Yup... Beers with the "Celtic" contingent is an experience not to be missed....just ensure you have a backup liver Drinking with the Irish and Scots is not for the faint-hearted <- good looking Guinness there.... And a wee dram or 7 of this laughing juice -> +1 oh yes: been there, got the t-shirt blah blah Spring 2011, can't come soon enough
  9. Longest day of the year today. Good start too: sunny morning, gentle breeze, wispy clouds. Currently 15C, could reach 26C
  10. I thought Bruce Willis' John McClane in "Die Hard" was pretty cool, especially his resounding "Yippe-ka-yay motherducker" But then there's always Clint Eastwood and his "Did he fire 6 shots or only 5...?" speech in Dirty Harry
  11. QUOTE (Cygnusss @ May 17 2010, 11:15 PM) What if the band just played two or three songs from each album? From start to finish? seems like a good way to touch on everything. +1 yes good idea, although perhaps they could just play 1 track from Presto, T4E and RtB
  12. Dear Natwest Bank Please stop increasing my Credit Card spending limit with asking me first! £21,500 is quite ridiculous and just underlines your reckless disregard for financial accountability that kicked you guys in the balls so hard last year! So kindly quit bugging me. Yours sincerely Sonny
  13. "Earthshine", because I love its raw, ballsy energy!!
  14. I can easily say "no" to eating that Kit Kat hiding in the top drawer of my desk.
  15. I also hope the boys factor in not only Europe but also Australasia & Japan. Am not even sure if Rush have ever toured Japan?
  16. Personally I didn't expect the boys to include Europe and/or the UK for the 2010 leg of their tour. I'm pretty sure we'll be included for 2011 all being well. Stay cool guys
  17. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Apr 7 2010, 08:26 PM) QUOTE (Test4VitalSigns @ Apr 7 2010, 02:48 PM) QUOTE (Some Half-Forgotten Stranger @ Apr 6 2010, 07:32 PM) I hope they do it like the original (not the 50's original) with real special effects and no CGI...CGI abuse has taken too many good ideas and turned them to shit. That is a concern I have myself.....my biggest beef with the majority of remakes and reboots (at least the ones that requires special effects of some sort) is the overuse of CGI that usually clouds over the story too much IMO. I'm with you guys. If the CGI is understated and serves the movie then fine, but if there's too much it becomes "style over substance" and that never makes for a good movie. (Matrix sequels, anyone?) I'd also love to see some old school practical effects because they're just cool. you just know this film is going to be soaked in CGI. It's the easy/cheap option. Old school Sfx by the likes of Rob Bottin and Tom Savini, will probably never see the light of day again, primarily because there's hardly anyone carrying the torch that knows how to do that shit anymore.
  18. Ceiling Unlimited, cus its totally awesome
  19. Haven't seen this docu for years now, but it is still vivid in my mind: Ali still remains perhaps the most charismatic sportsman I've ever known. And this film underlines that to a tee.
  20. 10C, heavy cloud. lots of rain and more to come
  21. I really don't care if I get an Easter egg or not
  22. Awesome news! in fact, the best news so far this year. Let the good times roll again
  23. and nine months later Marine Boy was born
  24. So today is financial year end: so I really don't care that its our busiest day of the year where I work. I really don't mind staying here for 11 hours to make our chairman that little bit richer!
